Lol, I'm actually pretty tired of the historical results... I want different results! Until then, I might prefer the talk... each fall I have the semblance of hope...

Here is my theory for this season -- The Camby Curse! Has the Camby Curse been reversed by trading for Camby again?

McDyess was traded to the Knicks on June 26, 2002 in exchange for Marcus Camby, Mark Jackson and the draft rights to Nenê, the seventh overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft.

But on October 8, 2002, with 1 minute 55 seconds left in an exhibition game against Phoenix, McDyess reinjured the knee while dunking a rebound.

In the 2003-2004 season, McDyess was traded to the Phoenix Suns after just 18 games with the Knicks in an eight-player deal that brought Stephon Marbury to New York.

REVERSE THE CURSE!!!

You know I gonna spin wit it

Sounds like the infidels have tore down the walls of Melo. Near 10yrs of mediocre results will do that to a player. Wish they would have been a 'TIGHT GROUP' last season

EXACTLY, maybe lin would still be here... but hey, he got rid of all the outsiders and glory stealers and got his "boys" in the house now.. watch out!! LOL

If "he" doesn't tell D'Antoni to put Lin in the NJ game, Lin is playing in China or overseas in Europe. Lin basically owes Carmelo commissions for saving his NBA career.

lol.. you keep regurgitating that mess.. that fact that you believe it is just amazing...

And the fact that you believe that he has the power to trade himself here, fire the coach all by himself and sign-up his boys, and tell the team not to resign Lin is delusional...

he had a hand in all of that hapenning....

And you this for certain because you feel it in your toes? Have grape veins sprouting in your backyard? The oldman that sits in the park fesding birds told you? How do you know this exactly?

no, he pushed his way here.. walsh was content on waiting it out..

He sabotaged dantoni and the knicks by not playing hard at all..

His divisive comments sure didn't do anything to make lin feel comfortable.

he had hand in all of this....

The oldman that sits in the park fesding birds told you?

yea, that old man we just signed up for our senior tour called the upcoming season....

I meant good results not historical. However watching this team the last 12 years makes me appreciate the 90's knicks. Back in the 90's i would get pissed because we never won the title but at least we were close every year

those are nice words. it shows he understands the concepts. perhaps now it is merely a question of willingness. but the probability is pretty high that even if he is willing he may not have the ability to do what he needs to do. i have always thought he had the skill and the talent but his bbiq limited him.

otherwise i believe he would have played this way by now. frankly he sounds like an alcoholic in the earliest stages of recovery.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Melo is a great talent i mean i have never taken that away from him. I guess I just wish he had what lebron james had. Even though i like melo more as a person than lebron i wish melo had that overall skill

Melo's out of context quote had nothing to do with Lin ending up in Houston. $$$'s and a stubborn owner is the reason why he's no longer wearing the blue and orange.

MDA sabotaged himself with the inability to adapt to his roster. Does Melo take some of the blame, okay I'll go with that. But why does Amare get absolved for his poor play and stalling-motor whihc all of a sudden kicked into gear when Woodson took over?

yea, that old man we just signed up for our senior tour called the upcoming season....

Good one

its not the skills its desire. Lebron is an ass but he's the best BB player in the world. He was not a good defender his first few years in the league. Now he's the best defender. People said Lebron wouldnt win a title until he became the great defensive player than MJ, Kobe, etc are or where. So he became a great defensive player. People say Melo is a me-first player and doesnt defend. Melo says trade me to the Knicks.

cant argue. When the heat lost in 2011 lebron said he didnt get out of bed for a week he was so pissed. He was determined in 2012 and the heat won. I hoping melo brings that same attitude and action this season

It's hard to root for players when they do things on their terms and not based on principle. In all honesty there are no more coaches for Melo to get fired, there are no more players who bear a threat to "I'm Coming Home", there is no more money for him to chase at the moment, there are no other major gigs he can help his wife land, he can't lose another playoff series in the first round and borrow time off of it, he's probably never going to beat Durant for the NBA scoring leader for the rest of his career even if he tried.....what else could he say other than I need to change my game for my teammates.

I know Denver is thanking all of what they managed to decide on in getting rid of him.

Just for a second, pretend there is no hate and look at the venue and the teams Melo has been on...Try to use logic to see where he has been and where he wants to go...He has been in a city(Denver) that needed to win to fill the seats...They brought in a scorer to fill the arena and it worked, Melo delivered...The supporting cast around him hasn't always been one that was built to win...As I showed in another posting, second tier players has been Voshon Leonard, Boykins, KMart, Andre Miller... They were the second best players on a team, trying to contend in the Western division against the Lakers and Spurs...Not the type of team built to make a run..Yet he is framed as a guy who can't get out the first round because of his deeds...You tell this kid go out there and carry us to a few victories and he did just that...The coach and organization didn't seem to have a problem until he wanted to leave...They did everything to make him stay...He was filling the seats...He obviously wanted more, he wanted to team up with others to make a run at a ring...He is stating he is willing to make the adjustments to do just that...The very thing Knick fans want as well, and he just get killed for it...Give him a chance?? NO, He cost us Gallo...Nothing will make u guys happy unless Gallo is hoisting it up from the three point line and flopping on the defensive end with MDA egging him on...Amazing...

Reasoning is pointless with people whose aim it is to be unreasonable...This kid wants to win and I want to watch him in a Knick uniform go for a ring...I know MDA and Gallo couldn't get us there against the likes of LeBron and KG...Some here don't and may not care as long as their favorites a jacking threes, running the pick and roll, who can give two ****s about defensive basketball...What can I say, keep moaning...Maybe this is the way its done with old dudes coming off the bench, I doubt having old dudes are better than having younger sparks off the bench but I'm rooting for them...You don't have to believe, just continue to be miserable until u see some victories then join the bandwagon and tell us all how u knew he could do it...My popcorn will be popping on Oct. 11 when the run begins..Tune in u might see a few good games and manage to smile under your frozen frowns...Go Knicks!!!!

I think Melo did learn some things from his season last year and the Olympics experience. I think it gave him a positive experience to learn from and the attitude that the Olympic team decided to take on is influencing his mental approach from here on. People seem to assume that players can never change or mature as if people can't evolve at all. I don't believe that. If you look at your own life you know that as you get older you often do mature and maybe not change 100% but you do gain some wisdom that effects your decision making.

I'm willing to give Melo the benefit of the doubt and so far the team as a whole is in a good place mentally. Guys came in ready for the season. STAT, Melo and Felton all had down years and worked hard this off season to regain their games and that is a huge impact on how this team will perform. STOP thinking about what these players looked like last year. That wasn't the best any of them can play. I think this team is ready to win this year and Melo is going to be a central part of it.

Holy **** that was pretty good.

I think alot more people watch their teams with high hopes and to see them prove you right
than spew negativity and hope that they prove them wrong.

I think this team is ready to win this year and Melo is going to be a central part of it.

sounds good, but then he has already had the olympics experience once before and there was zero change to his game.

also, the ability to change ones game falls under the law of diminishing returns with each passing season. this is why i am dubious of stat's work with hakeem as well. these are things that he should have been learning in high school. it's a sad phenomenon that all too often we see players who were dominant in high school and college who get by on sheer size and athleticism only to come to the nba without the requisite skills they need to excel. i don't know what position stat played in high school but he was surely the biggest strongest quickest dude in the gym. then with nash feeding you cookies all career long, who needs a post game, passing skills, and a midrange shot? stoudemire is a tweener.

don't know what melo played at cuse but the likelihood is power forward. same phenomenon-- more effective as a power forward, less effective as a small forward, result is tweener.

two tweeners trying to mesh spells disaster. two tweeners at max contracts trying to mesh is even worse.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

yea... exactly. Talking about all the great things he will do, until he's not comfortable and goes back to his old ways.

Simple question: Why is Melo talking at all? If someone has something to prove, prove it. Just go win.

Holfresh while you continue to harp on guys like gallo and MDA it just shows how shallow you are thinking here... it is about a way of doing business, substitute gallo for any young player with potential, substitute lin for any young player with a lot of potential and it is the same exact thing.... we were far from a finished product with gallo, amare, chandler, MDA and crew, but we were a young crew above .500 with assets.. cap space, picks, etc to methodically improve this team to a point where we can make a sustained run at the top teams in the league...

no one is saying this team will suck, this team should be good, but we are no longer looking for "good" we were on our way there before the trade, this team needs to be great, championship great.. otherwise why make the trade? to see mello flop around in hsi sweet spot hoisting up shots, jab step, jab step, iso, iso.. all day? THIS IS what a lot of you want to see, 'THE BEST PUUUUUUUUURE SCORER".......If carmelo cared about winning he wouldn't wait until now to talk about doing the things it takes to win.. winners have that etched in their DNA.... as DK mentioned in his post.. melo has no more excuses, so what else is he going to say... there are no more coaches to get fired, no more money to make, no more threats to his "i'm coming home".......and msot likely no more scoring titles to win unless durant, lebron, wade, westbrook and a few others retire.. oh wait, did I say any more.. heck he hasn't one one.. my bad...

the key is, if you think that melo could not beat the spurs or lakers with that team in denver, why should it be any different facing two very good teams in the east, with a team of older guys and guys coming off career low years? where is the logic in that?

so while we all wait until this season starts some of us like to come in with a more realistic approach, and if the knicks win great.... I am sure none of us will jump on the so called "bandwagon" we were never off the knicks bandwagon, just not on the carmelo wagon, and win or lose, I am sure that will never change.. at least for me..... the question is, what happens if we don't win a ring? I am sure you will be right in here trying to sell that mortgaging our future was worth watching melo go ham, taking 40 shots but coming up just short to either the celts or heat.... so at night you can sit back starry eyed telling your kids how melo almost saved the knicks from getting swept in the second round, how great he was in the knicks 1 win.... how that game will go down next to the performace jordan had vs the jazz... doesn't matter if we lose.. We had 'THE BEST PUUUUUUURE SCORER".. DOING HIS thang in NY and that is all that mattered.. right?

dk, I said this before.. it is nice to see amare working with hakeem, but this should have been done much earlier in his NBA career.. not when you are losing your physical abilities, but when you are at your peak.... so by time you get to this point you have that part of your game down... almost second nature.....
