I hate the real refs. They are old and bad.

And they want pensions when no part timer in this country get pensions. Now one can say the players dont deserve all the money they get but they are irreplaceable. Like u said these refs would get better overtime. They have appreciation for their jobs. With experience and repetit anyone can ref a game. If some refs want back in the league then cut ties with the union. I guarantee you the younger refs want back in. Its the older ones who want pensions. And its probably the older ones who are responsible for all the missed calls
they have had a pension plan in place for a while (1974). i think the replacements are showing why you cant just plug guys in and get equivalent results. the scab players in 87 showed the same.
Yea but give these replacement officials time and they will get better. Players are irreplaceable. I want to see the regular officials on the field like everyone else but I can't really fault the league if they play this out for the rest of the year

No there not going to get better, we have refs that have been fired from division 3 (the same idiot who made the call last night..we have refs that were officiating pee wee league, refs that wouldn't even be called in for an interview..These aren't 20yr old refs that are learning on the fly..
ya, note what the requirements are to get your foot in the door
10+ years as a college ref, 5+ in a major conf.
i do not think any of the replacements have this and it shows. i can fault the league... they cant make claims about punishment for making the league look bad and target only players/coaches if they continue down this path. they are willfully taking on a risk that has backfired badly already over a power play (dont even think this is about the $). i find it a joke to be told "nothing to see here, move along" by the nfl in relation to the refs (and with the reg crews too). nfl will not continue to make gains forever if it pisses on things (and people) simply cuz it thinks it can.
those retired player lawsuits are looming... if the (retired or not) players start making a case that the poor job the replacements are doing puts them at injury risk, perhaps the nfl will see fit to help resolve this.
