They get it done once with Messie and The Grate One but then they suck badly for 15 years.
Knicks can make some noise but in 2 years this team will suck badly.
If the Knicks make it (win a chip), I would be happy for the next decade regardless of our situation (good or bad), unfortunately while our core is good, I seriously doubt that it’s any better than the TOP 4 teams in the NBA today.
Unfortunately for the more pragmatic negativists among us, winning one chip would not validate anything other than:
1) extension of Melo hate to include him being a one-win loser
2) our owner is still a douchebag that doesn't deserve a banner in his building that came under his watch
3) Brooklyn is still a better fan value, despite finishing at or near the bottom of the division
4) OKC is still the best model to watch and root for.
I completely disagree; the Knicks becoming a contender or winning a championship, will validate the decisions management have made for the past few years, even if these weren’t popular, but it has to show on the court first. Remember, we were so much under the salary cap and had youth that we could have built a truly contending team, but for some reason, after signing/trading for 2 max players, we are still struggling to stay above 500, something was not right.
I’m sorry for my wait and see approach regarding the Knicks, but after excusing them every year for more than a decade, I just got tired of it. These days I’m facing it with reality, hoping that the Knicks could turn it around but wondering why some teams with NO SUPERSTARS like the Nuggets, Jazz or Pacers have equal or better record than us with much younger teams and much better Salary Cap situation to move forward in the near future.
