Dolan hired Layden. So who sucks?

with all the HOF talent we have bought in to coach an GM (Donnie will be a HOF exec one day) its amazing how we seem to negate the talent?

Why is that? Media?

Also, Stern pushed Dolan into hiring Walsh or someone with Walsh's pedigree. I think Walsh was chosen because he would take the high road with Isiah. Also, Walsh's tenure was successful because he brought back respectability to the franchise. His trades, drafts, hirings and signings were mediocre to poor in my opinion.

With the garbage cast he get and Dolan with Isiah on his back he did fantastic job... He made zomby club relevant and wathcable again.
It took Jimmy no time to destroy the hope for the chip, but we get very good players with assets Walsh assembled.
Walsh is forever bbal man, Dolan and Isiah forever losers and clowns of NBA.

The Knicks were watchable again? I rarely missed a game but I am a freakin idiot when it comes to this team. The Knicks won 23 games in Walsh and D'Antoni's second year. The team as it was composed was not changed and was supposed to be as good or better than the Bucks. The Bucks made the playoffs, the Knicks gave a former trade partner a lottery pick. No player development that year either as the first round picks weren't played and Hill was traded with Jeffries and this years first for McGrady. Are you kidding me? Royce freakin White, and Jordan Hill so you can dump Jeffries, let D Lee go and sign Amare to an uninsured contract. Praise that all you want but I don't think it went the way Donnie planned.

No player developement?

Dude, look at the roster changes. They were very watchable year three until the Melodrama hit.

This is not surprising to me that most of the people cannot understand thing in motion and as they develop.
System approach is a science and US schools and colleges sucks in this badly.
Most of the people trained to look at the moment and cannot see how things evolve from past to the future.
Yes, they made the team worth when bad contracts must be dumped in a hurry. And they still manage to get fans to watch the game and even build some hope that this train wreck of a team can be decent again and the organization will be able to restore its glamor and respect.
Yes, the things never went the way Walsh want. Jimmy destroyed everything he diligently work on for two years with one trade (Melo).
Now things are back to normal in MSG lend.

And then Woodson took over, and the 18 & 6 run was very fun to watch....Small sample, yes. Still exciting to watch, absolutely....

Layden is a good man who was put in a difficult position. Jim took a chance on him turning out to be a great GM and unfortunately lost the gamble. He repeated the mistake with Isiah Thomas. Luckily for us he has turned around his decision making since that time.

No, he hasn't.
