Sorry if I offended anyone here. Memorabilia is a huge business so who am I to piss on anyones good time? These guys can montetize their fame for some money and fans get take those goofy shots of them and post on facebook. its a win-win!

I just hope to God Sugar Ray Williams clears enough to pay for his insulin. I thought that article said he had diabetes or something... And no, I'm not trying to be funny.

I know, Ray really had fallen on some tough times. He has a brother "Gus" williams who was the starting pg for Seattle the year they won it all. Avged 26 pts in the playoffs! Ray was bigger and stronger and had maybe more talent but could never put it together.

Gus, DJ and Downtown Freddie Brown was a nice combo...Gus was the consummate pro tho..Great defense with his offense...

Freddy was on his last leggs in Seattle. He was a legend star with the Pacers when they were the "Celtics" of the ABA. They were a model franchise in that league for a while. Very solid fan base! Hoosiers love basketball!

Dennis Johnson was the starting guard on that team and Brown was off the bench.

Starting forward was Lonnie Shelton! He was a former knick. he was the 25 pick over all in '77 but in two years let the league in foul trouble and of course never lived up to comparisons of him of Willis.

When we signed Marvin Webster as a free agent we had to give him up as compensation and we swapped picks too with Seattle.

Seattle loses Webster who was a big 7 footer, gains Shelton and wins the title that year!

Another great move by the knicks of that era!

Lonnie was an offensive/defensive foul waiting to happen..Could have been a nice player if he honed his aggression...Webster was absolutely crap when we got him...DJ later went to Boston who continue his fantastic player..Parish came over as a steal as well...Some baseball guy showed up and put in a stellar career with DJ in the back court...Their front office could do no wrong with all the pieces they added around Bird...Was a great time for hoops...You are impressing me with the knowledge from yesteryear....

Smileys aside, it's a bit difficult to believably digest with all the rest of the Nyetoric you keep spouting.

But maybe you're really a closet Sonics/Thunder fan?

Best of Both Worlds! More recent chip, plus current bandwagon!

[waits for Nalod to turn Blue/Green...]

So any knowledge of another team means one is a "Fan" also?

I think there is a bit of "NetPhobia" going around these days!

So whats next? Do I have to "Prove" myself a fan?

20,000 posts over 8.5 years and a reasonable knowledge of the knicks the last 40 years not enough?

The guys with the phobia talk more about the N*ts than anyone!
