Philly's move makes no sense to me other than Bynum But to lose sweet Lou, NY Knicks will jump past sixers again this upcoming yr Turntable Musiclover & Mix-Master-ologist

They scored off transition baskets by playing defense and forcing turnovers. Sixer's just traded their best defender and best player in Igoudala. Bynum is an upgrade but he isn't Dwight Howard. The guy got destroyed by Javale McGee. Evans has potential but he currently has Brandon Roy's moves minus the finish. Plus he doesn't have the physical tools to defend like Igoudala. Sixer's will still make the playoffs because Orlando and Atlanta decided to tank before the season . Plus Chicago is stealth tanking. Miami, Boston, NY, Brooklyn, Indiana, the rest. Should be a good fight for the 6th through 8th seed. NY Knicks - Retirement home for players and GMs

I don't see Philadelphia being that good either, although i do think they are a playoff team. They still have good depth, especially on the wing, but i don't think they got that much better. They added a top player at a tough position to do so. But they lost probably their 2 best players from last season. I think they improve slightly only because Turner can help fill Igoudalas role to an extent. He isn't nearly as good tho. |

![]() The window is closing for the knicks in the next two years. Better move your fingers otherwise they get crushed. Lets just say the knicks on paper are better. Philly go out of the gate last year really good and they did beat the "roseless" bulls. They are well coached. Every team will have a full camp this year. Im not talking smack about other teams. Not happy Bynum is in the east but it should make for better games and interest. The division got stronger. Washington is not going to be a pushover anymore either. |

The past few years there were very few games and match ups to get excited about, and the playoffs sucked in the east- the 2012 playoffs were a joke, with the only interesting series being Miami Vs Boston. I've got faith in this Knicks team, hopefully they'll rise to the challenge and we'll see some great games. |

Love will be a free agent, and so will a lot of other players. This current team has 3 good years to play together and the Knicks are in a good position to reset if necessary. ![]() That's what I don't get about some fans or posters. They think we're locked in with this so called old team for a long time. All our current and newly signed players are all under contract for roughly the same period(3 years). We're all in. If it doesn't work out, we can blow it up no big deal, trade expirings or sign new free agents entering their primes in 3 years.

Second, we're not going to be able to trade an expiring contract and gain cap room at the same time. Expiring contracts are valuable because you can take another team's worse contracts along with some assets, like draft picks or players still on rookie deals. Third, the type of player movement we've had over the last couple of years really has no historical precedent. I'd prefer to not rely on the same thing happening three years from now. Finally, if we're so bad over the next three years that blowing up the team and starting over is the best option why would anyone want to sign with us? And why would we trust that management would be able to sell those players on wanting to play with us? Every report that's come out about our wooing of Lebron has been more embarrassing then the last. Now the joy of my world is in Zion

So your front court of the "future" is Bynum, who in seven years has managed one good season that made him into trade fodder for a DamagedStarphucque. Yes, in just a few short years that front court will be ruling the world. SMH |

![]() Bynum's no Greg Oden. He's played in about 80% of the games over the last 3 years and makes almost every playoff game. If he's healthy, he's better than anyone we have. No doubt, he's a risk but he can help them win a lot of games in the east.

If Melo, Amare, and Tyson figure out how to play at the same time we should be better but if they can't figure it out than Philly will be better in the near future if not next season. Bynum has well more than one good season, last year was his first healthy season. He's also better than everyone on our team except for Melo. Spencer Hawes is a nice role player who is a better rebounder and defender than anyone on our roster not named Chandler or Camby. He's also solid offensively and a good passer and fits in better with them than Amare has with our team so far. I'd also add that their backcourt is better than ours. We have maybe two players on the same level as their four guys: JR Smith and Iman Shumpert if he can recover from his injury. As it is right now, we couldn't trade a single one of our guards straight up for one of theirs. Finally, they're going to be pretty far under the luxury tax for the foreseeable future so they'll have all of their exceptions to use on free agents, something that we can't say. ![]() Bynum is a freak of a talent and a far better center than Tyson though Tyson is not a dik and Bynum is.
It will be interesting to see what Doug Collins can get out of him. I fear/think he will dominate for him. |
