I understand Melo is the face of the franchise and he deserves crtiticism for the product as a whole if it's a bust. And I too agree that letting Lin walk was foolish no matter how it's spun. But the fact is that we have a very good looking roster. Aside from LAL and Miami we may have the best roster in the league.

But our history over the last decade and our ownership overshadows EVERYTHING and it leads to regurgitating the Lin scenario, arguments about Melo being a selfish diva, etc. Again, my opinion is that almost everyone here LOVES the Knicks...maybe even Bonn whose opinions and statistical based analysis I have my issues with. And that passion and love for the team goes both ways. It leads to blind optimism and pessimism. Not enough intelligent, logical and reasonable discusison. But I still believe everyone here desperately wants the Knicks to win a title.

Then again, it's a message board. This gives people an outlet to be idiots sometimes.

I agree...I think everyone here wants the Knicks to win. Many of us just have differing viewpoints which makes things fun.

There will always be blind optimists and pure pessimists as fans who love their teams but root from opposite interests and always debate but never see eye to eye. There will always be fans who do not care about stats vs. those who only care about stats. These types of fans are what makes a board even more interesting, as long as the debate does not get personal.

IMO, where most forums tend to go south and turn off posters is when the same themes are presented over and over again and repackaged by the same posters...either with a positive or negative agenda it gets frustrating for most everyone else. Also, regarding the Nets threads, it's the offseason and the Nets have moved to NY and are division rivals, so there certainly is an explanation for more than usual Nets discussion. However, the threshold of someone with a potential "agenda" is fast approaching.

James Dolan is an awful owner who has made the Knicks a place where we have to beg to get players to come here. The Lakers will end up with Steve Nash and Dwight Howard and we will end up with Raymond Felton and Jason Kidd. Nobody wants to play for Dolan. He is only surpassed by Donald Sterling in supreme awfulness. But even Sterling is doing some right things with the Clippers recently. Dolan will always be Dolan.

I don't like all the Nets talk either unless its focused on the game itself, not which franchise is better run or who has the better owner. When Dolan is the standard you have to go by as a Knicks fan, not much to talk about anyway.

Don't believe anyone should be going on a crusade to root out the "troublemakers" either. That should be left to the mods. Especially if at some point you have stirred **** up yourself.
