Once stat and melo become expiring contracts we can trade them for other teams castoffs. Maybe Gilbert Arenas will become available or guys like eddy curry , steve francis or tracy mcgrady. Lin will be 27 and in his prime

i get that fans needs to lie to themselves so they can keep rooting for the orange and blue, but this is not a well run franchise. it's a pathetic joke run by cowards. and, yes, i'm still a fan, so i don't need the misterearlettes telling me how i'm allowed to root for this team.

Glad I stuck with the Yankees and Giants during the times those organizations were run like crap.

That topic video for the thread really resonates with you, doesn't it? So it's Lin or lies to keep rooting for the team.

"We can still go to a Knicks game.."
"Why?"

Frontrunning is such a delicate art to perfect. It's so cute on 5 year olds.
Probably because that's the mindset where it makes the most sense.

man, jeremy lin is a jerk!

I don't think any knick fan thinks Lin is a jerk and I think everyone wanted him back. It does get hard not to respond to some of the wild Accusations being made in regards to his leaving if you don't want to believe it is about how punitive and restrictive the cap becomes in the poison pill year of lin's contract, then maybe you should contemplate Lin firing r
The agent he had with the Knicks or why the contract changed from what was originally reported. It was a business decision and I don't think it was easy for the Knicks to make.

the money argument is horse patooie. knicks paid $170M+ in 2005-6. they can afford lin and then some. newsflash - they're restricted with or without lin, which makes it even dumber that they let their best young player go. not to mention melo + lin was the knicks best chance to make any noise the next three years.

but, nope, dolan's feelings were hurt and melo didn't like that lin was more popular than him.

so it goes.

it was a horrible decision that knicks fans will have to stomach and rationalize for years to come.

and don't give me the idea that knicks fans didn't eat up the garden PR that lin went back to houston for more money and that makes him a villain. that was almost every anti-lin argument on the board. it was a weak argument and stuff like this video prove that lin is a good guy. absurd to me that fans are bitching about lin's $25M over 3yrs when amar'e is getting $66M over those three years and melo is getting $66M over those three years.

don't even try to pretend that you didn't villify lin for getting a third of what amar'e is gonna get. you wanna know who will be more valuable over the next three years between amar'e and lin? it's lin. basketball-wise, PR-wise, marketing-wise.

the decision to let lin go is one of the most monumentally stupid decisions in the history of the nba when you factor in basketball and marketing.

I suggest you go to the appendix on coon's cba site. It is at the end of the document. I tried to paste it but it is in columns. It explains the difference between the05 cba and the new cba.

guys...the post was meant to make u laugh...not bring up the whole lin salary cap thing...lol
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

way to also copy and paste the part where i said i didn't care how misterearl and his little cheerleading squad tells me to root. this isn't about being "in love" with lin. it's about stupid decisions. if your eyes were open you'd see that that's all dolan has done since he bought the team in 1997. 99 was a fluke - that team wasn't really an 8 seed - and yet this fan base keeps thinking the knicks can re-create that. every single year. every single year this fan base deludes itself into thinking the knicks "just need to make the playoffs" so they can "make a run".

dolan has played you. i'm sorry. keep drinking that kool-aid though. it goes down easy. like melo in the playoffs. ahhhh.

This is the best Knicks team we've had in 10+ years. I love Kool Aid.

The only ones who Dolan has played are the ones who care enough to cry hysterically from such deep emotional pain

I get confused as to whose fault it is that Lin left. Is it melo, Dolan or CAA? I know it isn't a result of the new cba, the new agents Lin hired, or Daryl morey and the rockets. Not sure about asik either as his contract was structured the same as Lin's.

If I am a rocket fan i am worried about morey. He had 2 point guards on his team that you could argue are at least as good as Lin and he lost one and got rid of the other. He traded away talent for picks and cap space to trade for d12. Then he used his cap space to sign lin and asik.

Lin is a high character guy, it was nice of him to console the kid. He can't do anything about butthurt Knicks fans, haters gonna hate. Good thing the rest of the world/media loves him as a player and person.

I think every knick fan loved and wanted Lin back. He isn't just a high character guy, he was a Cinderella story and he was a knick. I think the conflict is about why his contract wasn't matched.

I believe the Knicks could only offer 5 mil per but could match an offer. I don't think they realized that wining the bird's rights case would result in their losing Lin.
