On this board, being considered Stephon Marbury would be a step up for Melo at this point.

[sets the trap...steps back slowly]

Melo lovers desperatly need to believe that Melo is hated around here. He's not.

And yet, despite this brilliant statement of truth, I didn't even have to make it to page 3:

Why is Melo opening his fat mouth?

I knew Melo was poisonous to the Knicks

No one has to make Melo into Marbury. If he doesn't win that will happen regardless of whether it's true or not.

Melo isnt Marbury. But LIKE Marbury his arrival is the start of something lame and twice Melo killed something exciting.

No one needs to try to make him into Marbury. Mr. .470 does this on his own.

Lin isn't going to be a Knick next season because there are players on his team who are just too stupid to give a damn. I'm looking at you, Melo, you fat moron.

dude, I said it from day one.. the guy is a bozo and a joke, add in mental midget JR smith.. Listen, I always felt lin didn't fit with these clowns, now we ran out walsh, dantoni, bye to jeffries, fields and now lin.. the asylum is now being controlled by the nut jobs.. good luck knicks fans with this damn mess..

I would be happy to kick melo out on his ass, take JR smith the mental midget with him and move amare.... that would be a great start..

We were a playoff team before Melo got here, so he hasnt elevated us from lottery to playoffs. He's an add-on.

the team essentially gave away its best young players when it did not have to do so. aka gave them away for nothing.

This is all we have to work with.

Winning, and sustained winning takes character.. melo has little if any...

if you cannot accept that Melo is a very selfish individual, on and off the court, you are completely blind.

That is why he wants the system to be run through him, so he can "create" more STATS for a "ridiculous" contract

Im waiting for Melo to do something worth feeling good about

And my personal favorite:

He's not even Aron fukkin Boone

Yes indeedy fishy, Melohate is just a desperate figment of all us jock-riding, blind salad-tossing ignorant, unenlightened losers.

fishmike wrote:To clarify, some fans arent thrilled with having a guy who cant win postseason games and shoots .419 in playoff games marketed as this wonderful savior that we should all be thanking our lucky stars is even on the roster. We are all just waiting for him to do something great.
For the Knicks.
When that happens super. Until then he's just another overpaid overhyped minion of James Dolan. He made his bed. Go be a big boy and deliver the goods.

hmmmmm.... Knicks player getting paid millions to play + no ring = overpaid overhyped minion. Glad that's the official definition.
How far did these folks get in 1 and a half seasons?

Patrick Ewing
Charles Oakley
John Starks
Mark Jackson
Latrell Sprewell
Alan Houston

Obviously losers all.

Carmelo is the third most important player on the US Olympic team right now 1. Lebron, 2. Durant, and 3. Melo. He needs help and he probably should learn to defer a bit more. But Melo can absolutely play and his overall Olympic performance back this up

He might want to shut up, because stuff like this isn't going to be taken well:

http://tracking.si.com/2012/08/04/carmelo-anthony-jeremy-lin-knicks-linsanity-rockets-usa/?sct=nba_t2_a7

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony thinks the idea of him being a “selfish” player started with Jeremy Lin’s unthinkable rise to stardom this season.

“Let’s be frank about it,” Anthony told USA Today in London, where he is playing in the 2012 Summer Olympics for Team USA. “When it comes to the Knicks, we’re talking about one particular point in time. We’re talking about the whole ‘Linsanity’ thing. That’s when it started. That’s when it started to escalate as far as people saying I was selfish.”

Anthony and Lin had an at-times rocky on-court relationship, mostly because their styles of play never completely got in sync. Anthony was sidelined with a right groin injury when Lin began his unthinkable ascent. The Knicks went 8-1 with Lin leading the way in Anthony’s absence.

Then Anthony returned, and the Knicks went through a 2-8 skid. He said the “selfish meme” doesn’t bother him, however.

“Lin came and we started winning games and then we started losing games, and they could only point to one thing, which is me, the leader of the team,” Anthony said. “They’re not going to point to Amar’e. They’re not going to point to (guard) Iman Shumpert. They’re going to point to me. I accept that. It doesn’t bother me.”

Lin, of course, signed with the Houston Rockets this offseason, and the Knicks declined to match the contract offer. When the Knicks were deciding whether to match the offer, Anthony called it a “ridiculous” contract.

He should stop talking about Lin and should view Amare as a co-leader, or at least pay it lip service in the press.

Obviously losers all.

Pretty much.

That long post was from TKF, a guy who once said that while watching Knick games, he ignores Melo on the court and make believes he's not there. How do you do that?! He also had another post where he was saying something along the lines of wanted Dolan to die or wanted him dead. Seriously, its juvenile posts like that that tears the forum down, and yet the so-called Melo bashers pretend that the posts you mentioned doesn't exist.....

This is why I've reduced the amount of time spent on this board. There are idiotic Melo/Lin bashers and there are people who put out well thought out reasonable critiques. There are people who ride Melo's/Lin's jockstrap to the point of unreasonableness and those who simply appreciate their games. Guess who speaks the loudest? Like politics, the people who want to have a reasonable discussion or even a spirited back and forth on differences of opinion get drowned out by extremists who undermine their own case with the silliness of the crap that comes out of their mouth.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

yeah i stop reading this guys articles a while ago, especially when i realize he had less of an inside scoop then any avg fan..

Why he's even comparing EWING AND MELO or using them as an analogy..A player who's played a 109 playoff games as a knick, to a guy who's played 9

Yeah he currently is posting stuff from other blogs again. When he writes his own stuff it generally is no better than a realgm forum post. His blog is fun to follow around the draft and trade deadline.
