GM Glen Grunwald added several major pieces over the summer.

How did he do? I think he deserve an "A".

As much as i want to feel good about this unit, camby is injury prone, and kidd miss 18 games last season..

This team has been cursed with injuries since 99..they happen at the worse possible time, and to a major player in the rotation..

I stopped reading as soon as i.saw Lebron being a lock down defender......he can flop and come out of nowhere to block shots but he's never locked anybody down.

Chandler owned Dwight Howard in head to head last year....nuff said

Tyson hater!

Da' DJ says MrKnickshot is correct,
LBJ was best if you grade their team record and few other intangibles.

I love tyson but he was best for his spot/position.

LBJ (dont care for) guards everyone,
PGs, SGs, F, bigs and few Center/PFs

So should Lebron get the defensive player if the year every year because he cab guard every position? Should he get the mvp every year too cuz he's the best player......horrible argument.....

The most valuable or player of the year should go to the standout. Tyson stood out because he made the knicks respectable on defense again. When he was out we were dead.....

Yes, Lebron should win MVP and maybe DPOY for the foreseeable future. The reason he won't is because voters will get bored of voting for him, kind of like they did with MJ.

11 years in the league. 51, 45, 35 were his three lowest games played totals. He didn't play less than 71 for every year after that (not including his 62 last year). This isn't Greg Oden we're talking about here.

Not Greg Oden but he has missed > 150 games in his career and in the 2 years prior to Dallas, he had the 45 and 51 seasons. That is definitely cause for concern especially since he is getting older not younger. Hopefully Camby Stat and CrazyEyes can take the load off his minutes.

That was great logic - Bing Bong

Lebron should win mvp every year if he is the most valuable player every year. He should win the DPOY if he is the best defensive player every year.

If there was a Standout Player of the Year then it can possibly go to the greatest standout (if that's quantifiable)

Perhaps like term limits, they should limit the number of MVP's so that the non MVP's can have a piece of the pie? After all, this is america.

Jordan should not have gotten more than one but he was a selfish prick

Its like the Cy Young and MVP award. Can a pitcher be both?

All good arguments discussed. Tyson is fairly one dimensional which should not take anything away but it makes what Lebron did more impressive playing on both sides of the court.

Maybe Tyson got the award cuz next to Amare anyone playing d is gonna look even better!

Justin Verlander won the MVP and Cy Young last season but it doesn't happen often. He was just that dominante.

I think the impact that Tyson had on the Knicks weighed heavy on the voters. He only missed 4 games and in those games the Knicks gave up an average of 113 point a game. Also took the Knicks from 22 in defensive efficieny to 5th.

Like Tyson said "I would like to thank my teammates because without their poor defense and letting people fly by them I wouldn’t get credit for stepping up,”

The only reason camby is still in this league playing at a high level is cause of all the games he miss, considering he miss 150 games, thats like 2 seasons..the same for grant hill, ppl marvel at how he's 38 still going strong, but he miss almost 4 seasons with the ankle injury..

Ewing who hardly miss time, was a total waist after he left NY, he was only 36..

Now as for tyson, he was DPOY because of his overall defense(that doesn't include stats..
he was all defense 2nd team because he stats were no were near the top of the list, steals, defensive rebounds and block shots..

Chandler is probably my remaining favorite Knick.

With that said, Lebron was far and away the best defensive player last year. The guy is a monster.

Rose is not the answer.
