So whos our starting SG? JR Smith for his shooting ability or Ronnie Brewer for his defense? I would typically say Brewer without question, but who can knock down shots in the starting lineup? Also, who says Kidd's not an option?
JR Smith
Ronnie Brewer
Jason Kidd

ronnie brewer (if he's a defensive specialist) should get the Nod

Yeah the SG position has downgraded tremendously. Center position has too in terms of dominance, but its a different type of player at the C position now than in the 90s. PG, SF, and PF positions are better i believe than ever before.

I think overall positions have become anything but traditional, your either a guard, FWD or CENTER..

I think Shump has the abilty to be one of the best traditional 2g in the league, If he can find consistancy from the perimeter, he's going to be unstoppable..

Ronnie Brewer would be a 12th man, behind rolando blackmon if this was the 90's

I could care less who starts. I think the real question is who gets the most minutes and who finishes the majority of games. Right now, I'd say it's Kidd. I could see a lot of three-guard alignments with Felton, Kidd and Smith finishing games. I could also see games with Brewer finishing due to his defense. That said, the job is Brewer's if he develops a consistent long distance stroke this season.

only way brewer get a consistant 3 is if MDA comes back, that ain't happening..brewer on offense is a layup or a dunk, and a sometimish floater ..

I don't Brewer will ever develope a long distance stroke. He can shoot from the perimeter a little but is streaky to put it lightly. PLays great defense and is a good passer/handler but his non game from 3 land has me a bit concerned. However, his defense will lead to some offense.

For this team he should start. We'll needs JR's scoring off the bench.

Brewer will start. BTW SG was weak in the 90s IMO.
