Thought we should do our own version of this poll.

On a scale of 1-5, how upset are you that the Knicks didn't re-sign Lin? One is "Not upset at all" and five is "I'll never get over it."

He seemed like a nice likeable kid with some skills. Would have liked to see him resign at 2-3M per but the greed of 'Linsanity' made that impossible. It's to bad, he was our good feeling story and someone came along and purchased it hoping to cash in. Just another reminder that it's not just a game that we love, it's a business run by business men. Totally over it, voted 1. To bad for the kid, i think he realizes now he got some bad advice.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

2 for me.

Part of the reason I wanted Lin back was more for the future. I think Felton & Kidd fit the needs of the current team just as well, if not better, than Lin as facilitators, leaders (more so Kidd). The idea of Lin being turored by Kidd for 3 years, then after those 3 years, with all the expiring contracts the Knicks would then have an opportunity to rebuild, they coulda done so around Lin. I don't think the loss of Lin greatly affects the fortunes of this current squad.

bad advise...25 games gets you 25 mill...and a chance to sign back with the knicks as a FA in 3 years...no way is that bad advise..

The small issue i have with LIN is that in none of his commenets has he every said he wants to win now, he's more interested in establishing himself as a player, which is the case with most young players..

The knicks are seeking a championship in this 3 yr window, and not to say he wouldn't help them, but he still learning the game, and those growing pains are rough to to sit through (as we have notice) during a run with such limited time..

We pretty much scrap the rebuilding mode cause it really takes a toll

exactly... in 3 years when all these guys expire and our role players are hitting their 50s what do you have? Lin would be 25 then.

I would say Felton is better for this team TODAY. That was never what this is about.

How would Knick fans feel if we had a first rounder.. say pick 10 in the draft. Stern comes to the podium and says "with the 10th pick in the 2012 draft the Knicks draft... nobody. Because that rookie contract will be $3.5mm dollars in 2015 and that would cost the Knicks $10mm for a player they dont even know is worth it, so the Knicks are passing on drafting this year. Next teams is up"

Cause thats what happened. We took something and made it into nothing. Thats TERRIBLE management and wasting assets always burns you in the end. Walsh understood that. Hell.. the Nets understand that now also. Good job getting Deron. To bad there were no assets left to get the next guy.

I hope to be saying that a lot this season..he doesnt have the best supporting cast, but he sure made our role players a lot better..

Well the idea was to make our stars better...Too often he was competing with them for shots, more Amare than anyone..

Lin is going to have to live up to his salary in Houston and he will be compared to Dragic who they let walk or he's just the un-proven guard who they overpaid for in pursuit of foreign dollars. Contrast this with the possibilty that we will be better now with Kidd and Felton and the story might not have a storybook ending for Lin. Yup, he got his 25M, but will he remain productive and popular in Houston with that roster?

I wanted Lin back
but believe it or not I am more Upset with Jeremy and his Agent
than owner J.Dolan

You scrooo Dolan after you win a nba title or get what you want $$$

Lin blew chances to double $$$ value NY and Dolan would have presented more than a contract

Like SAS said Dolan knew folks in high places so WHY ? Jeremy not use that and your Boss

Dolan would set Lin up or I'd bet his startup businesses whether to aid kids in Lin's parent country or other asian community business interests in NY
I'd bet a paycheck Dolan would invest and also Lin appeal on Bway and endorsements shot to hell

Bad advice from Lin Agent, he didnt stick around here long enough to GET what he needed from MSG/ riches and opportunities via Dolan

He aint getting that in Houston & pressure Sky-rocket for him when Rockets are playing bad

Not hate, just fact.

He will be voted an all star over Westbrook, cp3 and Nash, among others, overrated... Don't be fooled by the dantoni magic...we went through this with Denver and they crashed back to earth while woodson had the Knicks going undefeated.

Everyone ran into the heat buzz saw, but none more than Lin against the heat in the season game.

I don't mind everyone liking or even loving Lin, but to bash the Knicks in favor of Lin, who before last year nobody even heard of, is offensive.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

2...but I've pretty much been over it since Wednesday around 12AM.

But ask me again in a year once he's had a season under his belt and we've had one under ours.

I think some guys go way overboard about him but he is a nice player and not 1 we should give away for nothing. The Knicks need starting quality guards and he is that
