Just so I'm on the same page as everyone else...the only time we think L.Brown is a Basketball genius is when we're pinning him against I.Thomas and the evil Empire (MSG).

any other time, he's just a old hack. got it!

Larry Brown also said Tyrus Thomas would be a superstar.

I don't think most people thought that way, to be honest.

Also, rings since Brown called Ariza delusional:

Ariza: 1
Brown: 0

Larry Brown??! Ask anyone who remembers my HATRED of him from the second the Knicks hired him. I was livid. He was one of the worst coaches I've ever seen in NY and I literally started my hate parade before the season. I just dislike the guy.

Normally I'm an optimistic poster, but Larry Brown and giving away Lin have triggered pessimism.

Larry did one of the best coaching jobs in NBA history w/ Detroit. Easy. Pretty amazing with Phili also.

He's also one of the most blockheaded stubborn donkees ever and the job he did here was joke.

Larry Brown has zero credibility. They should have asked him how paying Lin ranked against paying him to coach in NY in terms of bad business moves. He left too much of a bitter taste in my mouth and I used to be a vocal supporter of his.

I can see Isiah-Larry-Marbury happening all over again. Glen-Woody-Melo. Thank god Melo has more brains than Marbury though and so far none of the off the court scumbag issues. But Grunny is close to Isiah and Woody to Larry. Enough to make me afraid.

this.... after the jobs he did in Phili and Detroit I was so excited to have this guy. His time in NY was almost funny. Your right though... Also Woody fired his long time agent and friend because Dolan doesnt like him (same agent as LArry who got $18mm settlement from Dolan) so Woody is good corporate soldier first and formost
I was really excited about brown coaching the Knicks also. But you described his flaws very well. He is a flavor of the month guy and needs a really strong gm to stand up to him and be firm in his vision for the team.

I was not accusing, see? I asked politely first.

Again, I can't blame anyone for being pissed, it is perfectly understandable. I just don't think that you are clear minded in this tender state. You are not being at all open minded to alternate scenarios that blur your made up mind.

Such as, Lin not playing. I have no idea what went on but I can say that my proposed scenario is highly plausible. You can't even bring yourself to consider because it may slightly tarnish your view of saint Lin.

Nobody is perfect and it usually takes two to tango.

Coaches like Larry Brown are the kind that would never give a player like Lin a chance. So FUCK Larry Brown. I am going to be happy as FUCK watching Lin make people eat their words this upcoming season.

If this is true, than you were in the minority around here.

Everyone loved Brown and hated (one of many reasons) I.Thomas for trading away the Knicks chances of drafting T.Thomas.

I think the majority of coaches would have been reluctant to give a guy like Lin a chance especially in a lock out shortened season. I thought Lin would be cut but the Knicks sent him to Erie and when he came back he caught a break. There was a lot of buzz here about Lin before dantoni played him.

Also, I am not sure what you are talking about with people eating their words. I am pretty sure that I have not read anyone saying they didn't want Lin back. I have read people disputing the ramifications of the Lin contract on the cap, whether melo prevented lin's return, if Lin got the poison pill put in so that he could be rocket... Etc.

There is certainly a possibility that they did not want Lin back. Don't rule anything out.

Yep. But that is organizational. I don't think anyone is going to be eating their words in regards to that.

Lin for sure caught a break. I mean how many teams have PG's as bad as Mike Bibby and Tony Douglas. Those 2 are nominees for worst players in the NBA.Lin probably is out of the NBA if we werent so crappy at assembling PG's.

Lin made outstanding strength and conditioning improvements over the last off-season. He would have annihilated the competition in the NBDL and would have made it back to the NBA.

Yeah but u never know if he gives up after 2 years of bouncing around. its not like the guy couldnt work in another field coming from Harvard. I wasnt taking a shot at LIn but a lot of coaches probably wouldnt of given him a chance for whatever reason. Being on a tea, with PG's as bad as the Knicks was fortunate for him

It's too bad that outstanding strength and conditioning didn't help him last more than 35 games.

Chuck you really got to move on from lin. I do think hating on lin is ridiculous because the kid can play but its time to focus on the knicks now

Why, because I speak truth? Did I say something hateful? Only mentioned for all that tough offseason regiment and those snazzy youtube videos of him working on his game last year, he broke down after 35 games.
