hate Melo and love Lin but, tell me who did Lin make better besides Novak and I think he (Novak) would have shined regardless once he got playing time. He didn't make the game easier for Amare or really anyone else. He didn't raise anyone's game but his own. I like the Kid but we need a point guard who makes those around him better or, at least gets easy shots for others. Unless you were a 3point bomber, you weren't going to look good playing with Lin. Sure, dude was good for 25points in Mikes offense which pads your stat (something guys here have been saying for years).

I hope he loves it out west because he's going to see the A+ game of some of the best guards in the league and, he better learn to go left.

Novak
Jared Jeffries
Tyson Chandler
Landry Fields
Iman shumpert
Heck even JR Smith got a little

Amare and Melo hardly played while Lin was on his tear. Im not sure how Knick fans are not remembering this stuff.

It's amazing how quickly it's all forgotten. One of the best stretches of play from any Knicks player of the last 12 years and Stephen A says it didn't happen so it didn't happen.

Yea , we could have won it all with that line up.

Not the point. At 23yrs old, Lin was going to get better. As Nash did. As Rondo did. De Nile ain't just a river in Egypt.

Are you going to go on record as saying Jeremy Lin is the next Steve Nash?

I will go on record on saying that Jeremy Lin will be a decent to good pro, not Steve Nash, not CP3, Rondo etc.

Maybe 15-16 pts/gm avg'ing 6 to 7 assists a game on a talent depleted roster.

Will he make an all star appearance sometime, perhaps. Not because he edges out CP3 and Russell Westbrook numbers wise, but because of the Chinese vote.

Am I rooting for Lin to flop, no. Am I rooting for Lin against the Knicks, hells no.

We've won 1 playoff game in the last 10+ years. If you've made it this long, you're obviously not a bandwagoner.

I think thats the problem that the Knicks have. Lin needs to control the ball completly in order for him to work. they dont want to play Dantoni ball anymore. So your left with a player that cant defend and has a below average Jump shot for an extra 50 million dollars. Im not saying Lin isnt a nice player but for this Knick team he isnt going to worth whjat they are dishing out

why bring Melo into this conversation?

I agree with you bonn. Ive been around here for a decent amount of time and had to endure my share of the pain this team has handed out. To be called a bandwagoner by some of these guys is criminal.

... and the real point of looking at who Lin was winning with is that it illustrates what can happen when you have a group of players who mesh together, even when there is no star.

A cruel turn of events for MDA, though, who finally had someone on the Knicks to run his style of offense. He must have felt vindicated in some ways, and his final attempt to get Anthony traded, before he himself walked away, may have been influenced by the success the Knicks had when Amare and Anthony were not playing, even if some of the victories were against less than stellar teams.

I dont blame Lin for not wanting to be here. Good career move. Go find a coach who knows how run an offense with a real organization

yea, and he will have a good young team to run with, not the senior citizens we have and an over inflated wannabe star in melo...

good luck jeremy, thanks for making last season somewhat bearable to watch...

I'm sure in no time at all the Knicks will have their fans turn on Lin just like the Packer fans turned on Favre. The Knicks will frame things to make Lin the villain in this, but whatever. That's how sports works ...

As for the initial question, this is tough. My interest in the NBA has been very minimal basically since Ewing rode off into the sunset. Knicks were still my team but I barely watched because there was nothing going on to get me excited. Jeremy Lin completely got me in and I was excited to see Lin and excited the Knicks had him. It was a great combo for me. i even watched the entire NBA Finals for the first time in the 21st century. Jeremy Lin going to Houston is tough. I don't hate the Knicks, but I hate this move, which seems to be a commitment to mediocrity, so my enthusiasm for the Knicks is very lukewarm at best right now. i can't think of a team I could be any more indifferent or disinterested in than the Houston Rockets. So it's unlikely I jump on their bandwagon. I don't know where I go from here as a fan. I was way into the Finals, so maybe I just sort of watch everybody and see how things develop. But the Knicks have been living off of the brand name for over 10 years now and its disheartening that we finally got a spark and management let it go.
