Not so sure I believe it but there were stories that he was like this back in high school and college. Do I think he could have played? Yes. I think everyone does but most will say he has to look out for himself. Which is OK too but do not come at me with he is Mr. Team.

I like Lin hope he stays. I am one of those weird Knock fans that like both Lin and Melo.

take it however you want.

Smith also said the other day that he spoke to Lin's teammates after Lin was cleared to play and after he said that he wasn't ready (at 85 percent) some of them asked if he could play just 15 minutes a game and he still said no. If Lin said no to that option as well, it becomes a little clearer as to why Lin might not be so popular in the locker room.

Something major I forgot. As per SAS, Lin was cleared by the Knicks to play in the playoffs but he chose not to. Said players had to understand from a business standpoint, but from a locker room/competitive standpoint, he lost some guys.

SAS also said he isn't hated or anything, as he is a very likeable kid, but he isn't beloved by a long shot either.

Yep, I don't believe any of his teammates fault Lin for trying to get paid, they would do the same. I believe its how he is going about it that might rub some of them the wrong way. If Lin does come back he is going to have to work on smoothing things over with the team because Lin got what he wanted. He got his money, his new agent, his publicist, his trademarks, its time for Lin to show that he is worth all this money and attention. Can't live off those 25 games forever.

LOL Trademarks, almost forgot he trademarked "Linsanity". I mean, give me a break!

Also time for Lin to take some responsibility
he farted away chance for Knick but may be saved

I'm as P_ssed with Lin as Dolan
perhaps

Lin will be darlings if he remains
rest of knick country will go back to attacking Carmelo if NY doesnt win 50 games

Let's get a few things straight first....

Stephen A Smith is one of the douchiest individuals on this planet and also a huge moron. Just because he yells a lot doesn't make him right. His "reporting" is usually driven by a personal or racist agenda and not by actual facts. He also is a very good friend with Isiah Thomas and has backed him returning to the Knicks.

Stephen A is probably a racist (hates Lin, hated Walsh, praised Isiah) or an ultra Isiah fan, yells and never makes any points whatsoever in his stupid rants and generally writes baseless garbage based on no facts in order to get noticed. He is even worse than Isola in this regard. He is negative for things that aren't deserving of negativity and positive for things that aren't deserving of anything positive, i.e Isiah's career in NY. It's best to ignore him than let him influence your opinion on anything.

The best way to counter an idiot like Stephen A is provide facts such as this:

Great read and owns Stephen A and his awful article.

joec32033 wrote:I was listening to Chris Russo on Sirius on my way home and he had some not so flattering things to say about Lin...I was cut short on my Ride but this is what I heard...

Lin went back and renegotiated-as in there the 5/5/9 contract was the ORIGINAL- contract at the Rockets request without telling Knicks
Knicks feel Lin showing no loyalty to a franchise that showed loyalty to him
Knicks unhappy Lin hired a publicist (I assume MSG provides players with those and Lin hired a private one)
If this current offer sheet was the first one presented and there was no renegotiation, the Knicks would have matched it already no problems
Matching contract is not about the money

In regards to off court:

Lin is amazingly hard to get a hold of media wise
Lin has blown off media several times, especially when he was injured, angering "crusty" old time reporters
Russo stated his opinion is Lin is buying into his own success and has definitely let it go to his head

well said Joe
TMS would have been proud cause Maddog is right !

Because he is one? You don't know his history at all so who are you to say what I'm saying is false? Just because you believe everything this loudmouth says as gospel?

I blame everything on Dolan because his track record proves he is a complete idiot. I'm not going to listen to what a few ill-informed idiots on the radio have to say about Jeremy Lin. Stephen A has had an agenda forever. This is why he gets fired and hired every year.

Steven A is an entertainer. As such he can be appreciated for what he does and you can form your own opinion on events.

Just because he yells a lot doesn't make him right.

Of course not, it's a schtick. Didn't you see the Jay Pharoah bit on SNL?

His "reporting" is usually driven by a personal or racist agenda and not by actual facts.

Calling someone a racist is not cool.

He also is a very good friend with Isiah Thomas and has backed him returning to the Knicks.

Big deal. Magic Johnson was friends wit Zeke, you gonna bash him too?

Stephen A is probably a racist.

Funny how this is constantly swept under the rug. Seriously, if Melo was cleared to play and said "no" during the playoffs, he would have been ragged on relentlessly by Knick fans...Why is Lin getting a pass for this by most supporters?

Do you know Stephen A personally like I do? Clearly you don't, so you have no room to talk. I can make that statement because I know him personally and his history. If Lin was black he wouldn't be saying anything like this about him and would be talking up his talent. Anyone who knows the man knows his agenda.

take it however you want.

Funny how this is constantly swept under the rug. Seriously, if Melo was cleared to play and said "no" during the playoffs, he wold have been rgged on relentlessly by Knick fans...Why is Lin getting a pass for this by most supporters?

*Excellent point Uptown
agreed 125%, Lin was 85%

Some think if it wasnt vs Miami Lin woulda played ..or against another playoff opponent. Many nba guys play at less < 85%
just a short note/plug there

Someone got to his ear and said NO play
