Exactly, if people could see the full interview instead of the short version they are showing to promote the drama it would look different. They showed it once on ESPNNews and now they just cut to Melo saying "people jump the gun..."

He is just throwing low blows, as he can't wait for Lin to leave to reclaim the Garden as "his" home.

I have said all year, that I got the feeling Melo did not like Lin, and saw it all over his body language.
I kept saying it as the season progressed and repeated it again when we were in the playoffs vs the Heat.

He does not want to have to fight for his "alpha role" fans or a #1 option.
It is very possible that he could have said things to Lin and did things to him to make him want to leave.

Melo since day 1, look at how TD/IMan played PG, "when Melo wants the ball 4x in a row, u give it to him" - Iman

Melo is a stat whore, creating opportunities and reasons for him to get a Joe Johnson like deal, but so many people have a problem with Lin getting paid.... watch!

WHich is another thing I don't get. A lot of players say the same things with out it getting blown up. I just got to come out with better intensity is something players go to but this is New York City. It really doesn't matter what he says if the team wins but if the lose then its a story. So he better come correct.

it's completely messed up for him to comment on what his teammate gets paid. when have you ever heard another teammate do that?

it shows he doesn't think lin is worth it and shows he doesn't want him back.

as if his on the court performance didn't already show that.

Exactly! Hahn explained as much during the game. Is it really so shocking the media can take something thing out of context and sensationalize it?

And frankly, we've been, discussing, analyzing, and criticizing Lin's contract, player salaries and every other damn contract that's announced on this forum including you. What makes you so above Melo?...or any of us above him for that fact???

Maybe we should get off our hypocritical high horses????

The only thing Melo did wrong is to not have the foresight to see how the media and those who take the words of the media at face value would spin it.

He should keep his mouth shut because he isnt very media savy. he should tak to Eli and Jeter about how to say nothing when speaking to the media

IMO Melo said that because he may already know that the Knicks won't match that deal.

As for all of the "Melo hates Lin" stuff, I haven't bought into that at all. We're all speculating on what we think the situation really is between those two, but I doubt that Melo has any jealousy hangups about Lin at all.

That is true but I belive he he said no comment that would have meant blah blah blah. The only way it stops is if his team wins.
