According to reports, Houston would pay Lin $25 million over three years. $5 million in the first year and $5.2-plus million in the second year. Then in the third year, $14.8 million.

We know there are arguments pro and con, and that some reports already say the Knicks will not match Houston's offer. What does your gut tell you? Will the Knicks match Houston's offer?

And yet the Knicks thought Jerome James was worth the money.

Go figure.

The current regime isn't trying to repeat that mistake.

Yes, Jeremy Lin is on the same level of Jerome James in terms of talent and worth ethic. Brilliant observation.

Like I said that Lin was the exact same as Jerome James? Don't attempt to put words in my mouth, dude.

They are both are both players to get a big deal after a relative short stint of above average play. Everyone who isn't choking on their own sarcasm can see that.

Furthermore, the Knicks have already made the same mistake. Just take a look at the contracts this current roster has.

...so if you feel that way, why should they do it again, then? So the same folks who are basing the Knicks relevance on Lin can turn around and say "same old Knicks, overpaying players who aren't worth the money"? BTW, every player on the Knicks- and in the NBA- who have comparable deals proved their worth for more games (and YEARS) than Lin has for this one. Now with THAT out of the way, please feel free to show us where all of these "same" mistakes were made on this current roster.

We still don't know if the Knicks will match the deal or not, but it damn sure looks like they DON'T want to gamble on that, though.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The bad contracts came under the previous regime of Donnie Walsh. Shame the knicks are now crying over only 25mil and 30mil in the 3rd yr which they would make back ten folds

i hope not. the more time that goes by, the more i get pissed at lin for signing such a stupid contract. he's no dummy and he knew that 3rd yr would be tough for the knicks to deal with so why'd he sign that type of deal if he wanted to come back?

Walsh's only bad contract is Amare Stoudemire. He didn't decide to pay Melo $24 million in 3 years, Dolan did.

true and now Dolan's freaking out about 25m/55m whatever it is? Doesn't make much sense other than his feeling are hurt and he is reacting on his emotions or come Tuesday he will match Lin's offer. Which to me is peanuts compared to the money Melo, amare & tyson are making. We are talking about a guy who's had no problems buying out contracts like Marbury, Larry Brown, Steve Francis, Jerome James etc

Well, we're talking about a guy who is a world class idiot, so any moves he makes is not a surprise anymore.

I still think the Knicks match but the news is not looking good.
