Signed. I'm a season ticket holder as well and plan on letting them know how I feel....

I recommend other season ticket holders do the same.

matching Lin, does not mean we HAVE to keep him *if he really wants a fresh start elsewhere, but we can get back assets for him before his 3rd year hits*

You are the same idiot that wanted to pay for Gilbert Areana's contract, with McGee, and their pick
Which would cost us much more than 100m+ in salaries and taxes?

You sure have a great direction and knowledge of the NBA game/salaries/ and evaluation in talent!

Melo has achieved nothing his 1.5 years here, 1 playoff win, WOW!

In his first year here, Felton/Gallo/Wilson Chandler/Amare lead us to the playoffs, not Melo.

They did? interesting.

Yes, they did. That team was above .500. The team with Melo, or Mr. .470, wasn't.

Apples to Oranges again?

What was the Knicks record for the 28 games with Melo (2010-2011)?

How about the 28 games before the trade?

NICE!!

So let me get this straigh..Linbury tried to screw the Knicks by upping the third year on his deal and fans wants to petition the owner to accept the screw job ...We are now redefining the definition of fandom..

While I would like Lin back in NY, I think NY has become too toxic. Nobody wants him there. He is better off in other teams where there is less drama.

For real. Honestly, since they acquired Felton, I have no problem with the Knicks FO let letting Lin walk. Poison pill contract. Lin will have a ton a pressure on him. He will not have two legitimate superstars around him in Houston who could accept responsibility for the down time during the season. I wish him luck, but I wish the Knicks even more luck. lol

But those, "Stars", Amare and Melo was not even part of his run during Linsanity.
Amare barely played, that is what makes Lin so special, and now we have a much better complete team, that really can go either way with Melo or Lin.

Unlike the 2nd unit players that we used had during Linsanity, we have added players that are much better.
The problem is either Lin or Melo, because they play 2 different philosophies.

Trading Melo for say, Gereld Wallace/Humprhies/ 1st round pick would be a very good deal.
We become a great TEAM that can play off Lin with GREAT DEPTH, shooters to space the floor, and a GREAT DEFENSIVE/rebounding team with those 2.

Gereld Wallace is a very rare player, can legit play SG, SF, and PF, in sense a younger version of Marion.
He is not an all star by any means, but with his size, length, athleticism, versatility, quality defender, and ability to play as a good role player.
He can post up, hit the wide open 3pointer, help handle the ball, and could start or/and finish a fast break with his skills.

Most importantly, we would catch everyone by surprise, and get good value for Melo, while Linsanity continues...

hol, i don't agree with often, but we are in 100% agreement on this topic. lin did what he had to do and if he wanted to return to the knicks he shouldn't have signed the rockets offer sheet. plain and simple.

I agree. I hope the team either lets him walk or does a sign and trade.

Are you serious. Felton Gallo Chandler left well before we made the playoffs. We were barely a playoff team with them and certainly would not qualify as an NBA championship contender. Gallo disappeared in the playoffs last year. Chandler was a joke last year. Gallo even admitted he's no Melo. Get a clue buddy.

We were a better team without Melo, we had the better record, and we headed in to the playoffs without Melo.
Despite all the players were affected from the trade rumors during the time, with some losses as well.
So when people say "Melo" lead us to playoffs, it is not true, we were play off bound already, in fact were had the better record without him.
HE should not get credit for us making it to playoffs that year, if anything credit, Amare, Felton, Gallo, and Chandler.

The FIT was there, chemistry was there, with Curry's expiring deal to sign a FA while keeping all those players, and draft picks.
And I am sick of all the people saying Melo did this, Melo did that, he has accomplished NOTHING in his 1.5 years here....

I like Lin okay, but I'm not signing a petition to keep him. I think the Knicks franchise has to make the call here, based upon Lin's value as a player and, frankly, as a draw for fans, etc. I have no problem if they make a business decision that they cannot keep him with a poison pill contract. As good as he played, he did break down, and he was beginning to get exposed. He could turn out to be very good, and we could seriously regret the decision to let him go. *shrug* I'm glad I don't have to make the decision.

Well there is at least one report that says the Knicks will definitely match. Hope they've come to their senses.
