This isn't an opinion piece but is all stat based but I'll go ahead and bite anyway. Felton's potential best is Lin's potential worst. The only thing that Felton might be better than Lin at is defense and even then the difference is negligible.

Feltons MDA starting numbers are slightly better then Lins

how lin was 20 & 8 under mda. 14 & 7 once amare & melo returned.and he was only 23

Lin has more potential than Felton. Everyone knows this.

Knicks dont care about potential. They care about production. Felton is proven to produce.

Knick fans 2010-How could we trade Felton ,I hate Melo, Felton was an All Star PG wah wah

Same Knick Fans 2012- Signing Felton or u serious he sux and is a fat ass, I hate Melo, Jeremy Lin is an All Star

Same Knicks Fans 2014- Trading Felton or U serious he has great chemistry with Amare,I hate Melo

Same Knick fans 2016- Bring in Lin as a back up PG. He sux he aveaged 8 and 4 last year, I hate Melo

In 54 games Felton 17 ppg 9 assists 3 TO , Lin starting 18 ppg 8 assist 5 TO
His numbers with Amare and Melo are what matter. Him being on the court without proven scorers being able to chuck it up at will is irrelvant

We don't need an elite PG, just a Chris child's level PG and that's what Felton is. He stunk last season due to being out of shape and feuding with his coach. He was actually okay the second half of the season.
