one thing to note - the last time melo played in the olympics, the next season he had arguably his best season and took the nuggets to the WCF.

...and his team had also acquired a veteran PG who had previously won a title.

and his team had JR Smith and Marcus Camby on it...

Now that's a NY Knick fan there I do really think this team can end up there. Too many Fans are buying into this Media idea that the Knicks aren't that good. Once the drama was over you saw what this team could really do. It was impressive and now the team is even deeper and more experienced. The only team I would fear is Miami. We haven't even finished adding to the roster yet and already I like the makeup of the rotation players.

Forgot about Atlanta. If they Keep Josh Smith & Horford while adding Lou Williams they too will compete for that 6-8th seed. With Milwaukee falling to 9th their favorite spot.

Boston & New York can't finish 2&3 only 2&4. They are in the same division along with the Nets.

Same for Chicago & Indy

yes they can. division winner can get 4th if they have the 4th best record. note how chicago and indiana are in the same division and chicago was #1 and indy was #3 last year

Not sure about the seed, but I honestly think this is a roster that should win 52-57 games.

And I also agree that this year is largely about Melo. I look at this team as a team with a superstar and a terrific supporting cast, including a great 1-2 punch at center, and possibly the best bench in the league.

If Melo plays like a true superstar from the get-go, we could have a great season. Based on what I saw from him late last season, I think this is possible, but we shall see what happens.

2nd Seed, Boston cant match what we have upfront and our back court while limited some can match up with theirs.

Our size is too much for the Celdicks

1. Miami
2. New York
3. Indiana
4. Boston
5. Chicago- Rose comes back in January but takes it slow
6. Brooklyn- dont believe the hype
7. Milwaukee- I think they add a low post scoring presence to match Ellis and Jennings and their D is stout with Mbah A Moute, Dalembert and Ilyasova
8. Philadelphia- karma is a bitch, they tanked for the 8th, they can get it again

Atlanta takes a step back, Washington just misses and Toronto surprises people

Today? Are we assuming we keep Lin even though today we don't have him?

would be surprised if we were lower than 3 but think 2 is realistic.

Best case scenario? Two seed if Nets don't get Dwight. Not that the Nets would be better than us, but it would make our division even tougher.

Worst case scenario? Eight seed. I believe we have too much talent to miss the playoffs, but injuries and excessive drama can stop us.

Likely scenario? Fourth seed. Things always happen that make our season an adventure. Hopefully it wont be the case this season, but be ready for anything, success or disappointment.

I think we can take the 2nd seed but no worse than 3rd.
