We are probably #6 or #7 on the list right now. I would put the clippers in front of us because Paul and Griffin alone are better than 2/3 of our big 3. That doesn't mean we are bad - but we need to gel and put together a deep bench that can keep us in games when our starters are out. I am more concerned about the team as a whole than just 3 players.

Agreed. Parker just had a fantastic year and both him and Manu are better than any player on our roster. Memphis has nice players but Zach had a down year and it was their defense that carried them. They were around 7 in def effeciency and 20th offensively. Very similar to us

After thinking about it, i would put SAS ahead of Knicks because of what they have accomplished. But saying Parker and Manu are both better than Anthony is taking it a little too far.

I think one problem is Anthony and Stat both had really bad years this past season.

And for those of us who didn't want to trade for Anthony - we have yet to see if he is more than just an inefficient chucker, or if he can in fact live up to some of his clutch stats.

he can live up.. I have no doubt of that. Melo can finish with anyone. The problem is can he NOT be a volume chucker WHILE he's living up to his clutch stats.

We just dont need Melo taking 25 shots a game to win. Its a bad formula. Get Amare and Chander the ball in the paint first. Feed the guys who score at at > than 50%. Move the ball

I want him taking the most shots, whatever the number is. I just want him taking good shots. I'd like to see him post up more, take it to the rack more, and shot spot up jumpers from dishes. Im not overly concerned with the actual number i'm more concerned with the quality of the shots. But Im a firm believer that ur best player should take the most shots. But there are limits to everything, I don't want an AI type situation and we've got to keep others involved.
why is Melo a better offensive player than Amare? Their careers would say different... And have you noticed the more shots Anthony takes the worse they get?

When the offense runs through Melo its too easy to defend. Its why his teams are easy to beat in the post season.

Because Melo can create his own shot: from the post, from the mid, from the wing, from 3. Amare doesn't have a post game(yet). Hoping Hakeem can help with that later this summer.

Amare's first year here didnt he lead the NBA in 4th qtr scoring? Although I agree with you... but game on the line isnt what Im talking about. Melo is a great last shot taker... only a fool or Bonn would try to downplay that. Im talking about running the offense through him, which is a mistake when you have good PGs and high % scorers up front... one of them (Amare) has already shown he can lead you deep into the playoffs as your primary scorer.

Im just looking to go with what works best

that hasnt translated into him being a better offensive player. Only one that takes more shots.

We have a nice team and set roles, it will help establishing our identity and chemistry with a legit core.
I think we need to find a nice combination of youth form undrafted players and younger players with the vet mins.

Amare definitely needs to be more involved just not sure he can do it physically anymore. What we saw 2yrs ago in the first half of the season we may never see again. Amare was breaking down before we got Melo. It was well documented that the Knicks needed to get Amare some help because "his legs" were tired. For all we know it could've been back spasms. Dantoni rode him like Secretariat that 1st half

he barely tailed off late... barely. End of the day he gave you 25/8 shot over 50% and played 78 games. A fantastic season. Last year obviously a different story, but he's 18 months older than Melo.

Unless Lin steps up big time.

Also, you accidentally put Amar'e in the Big 3 instead of Lin.

Completely agree. Our "Big Three" won't dictate how good we are next season, but the whole team effort and contributions from guys like Lin, Novak, J.R., Camby, Kidd, etc.

Our bench is just as important as our stars.
