Fact: Melo and Stat are working their asses off for next season, right now. Most players are relaxing and taking a few months off. That's commitment.

Melo got us into the playoffs- that's a fact too. Why has everyone forgotten that end to the season?! He was an ass until D'Antoni got fired (which most of you wanted), but he redeemed himself in the end- in that stretch of games where Amar'e and Lin were out, he was awesome- and I'm not even a big Melo fan.

The Body Conscious UKers among us I'm sure just want to see signs that Melo is pairing his impressive talent with a maniacal devotion to conditioning. He sure looked out of shape to many of us in the beginning of the season. My theory is living and training in Denver gave him a built-in edge, and moving back to sea level closer to banging Puerto Rican food with his banging Nuyorican wife was partly to blame.

But yea... sometimes the UK Musclewatch is just too much. Didn't someone here call Durant out for not being able to bench press whatever amount? He's not a shot-putter for Jah Jah's sake... a basketball weighs under two pounds and you can't hand check, so who cares?

Unless I missed something, no one commented on Melo's facial hair.

I made a comment, actually.

That scrubby thing on his chin has always annoyed me, to be honest. As for Bryant's, I would keep it if I were him- its a good look for his face.

As far as facial hair goes- if you can't grow it right... don't grow it at all.

By the way, I don't think he looks heavier in the photo, for what that is worth.

Some folks are mighty sensitive, though, about protecting Carmelo. I just hope I haven't hurt his self-esteem.

I have my one Mets and Giants forum I lurk in and there is never convo about how much weight "so & so lost or gain". Folks here talk about that kind of stuff a lot. Examining pictures and ****. Seems odd to me.
