You're talking about the biggest "if's" in the league.

This is a good signing but I do not see how they can play Allen, Wade, and Lebron together and not compromise there D.

Why? Two of those three players are among the best defenders in the game who can easily guard multiple positions, and Ray Allen is OK.

I just think it will be different than bringing in a 6'7 Mike Miller who can get you rebounds even with all his injuries.

Also, only James to me can guard multiple players. Wade can probably guard slow 2s but he is not a lock down defender against quicker players and gets toyed with by larger players. Is he still a great weak side shot blocker. Yes, big time. I just find it weird the cross matching they will have to do when 2 of Bosh, Battier, and Chalmers are in the floor. Of course this is just when they are defending elite teams. Most teams will have two weak offensive players on the floor.

On the plus side, should be easier now to beat Boston and win our division, hopefully enabling us to avoid Miami until ECF (if we get there).

Miami looks unbeatable, but then, so did the Lakers the year Payton and Malone joined up with Shaq & Kobe.

That's crazy. Even on a bad knee, Wade was the best shot-blocking guard in the league in the playoffs. Wade is virtually unlimited on defense.

ray was missing wide open shots in the playoffs, it will be tought to put him on the floor with LBJ and wade..it's a risky signing IMO

I don't think Boston will be easier to beat- they've already replace Ray Allen with Jason Terry, which I thought was a good move. Actually I think they've done a good job this offseason in restocking. Nothing drastic, but enough to improve. I was hoping that team would be broken up, because I can't take watching Pierce smile smugly while he plays against us, anymore.

Allen should be great for the Heat. Even if he declines rapidly, he only has to have one or two hot shooting games in the playoffs to justify his presence on the team (as Mike Miller showed). You have to pay attention to him whether he's hitting shots or not, which makes defending Lebron and Wade even more difficult. Urgh, let us hope they don't get Camby too.

The risk depends on the salary too. Obviously Ray was not healthy in the playoffs last year.

What's crazy is I pointed that out.

Well, the reason the Lakers lost that year is because the Shaq/Kobe relationship had completely deteriorated to the point that Shaq was traded that offseason. I hope we don't have rely on the Lebron/Wade relationship doing the same thing.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Heat' s biggest strength was /is still their d and the easy points they get on the break from it. Ray Ray does neither of those things for them. This move makes them more deadly in the half court, so they improved on that part of their team. Kidd can just stay glued to Ray Ray on the outside without spending much energy. Ray Ray doesnt run around screens to get open like he used to before.

I cannot blame Ray for wanting to leave Celtics and I cannot blame Pat for recruiting him to Miami.
