With Houston losing both of their PGs, i think they would be interested in a s/t involving Douglas for Camby. Gadzuric and Douglas for Camby is reasonable.

TD is no point guard! No ones falling for that! I think TD does has value as a back up SG, he was okay before last season. I think the Clippers would maybe take him for Randy Foye, if we go down that road.

He's not a true PG of course, but he has value as a backup combo guard in extreme need of one.

$3mil LLE not MLE

there is no lle it's the bae and it's worth 1.9 and a hard cap.

the team can't use the bae anyway now since they'll be over the threshold

Wonder if we could do a sign and trade with Portland for Camby?

Knicks meeting with Camby in Houston tomorrow as per Isola. It S&T doesn't work out with Dallas foe Kidd then we'll outright sign him and use the S&T on Camby.

Hmm, so he flys out to see miami first, then we have to fly out to visit him in Houston. Not promising at all.

He is going to Miami and the Heat will be pretty much unbeatable in a 7 game series. I wonder if he holds any ill will towards the Knicks for trading him. Camby loved it here.Never should of traded him

I wouldn't read too much into where the meeting is. He'd have to take half the money Knicks can offer to play in Miami. It'll be up to where he wants to finish his career.

Camby would be a huge pickup for us. Between him and JJ backing up Tyson and Amare we'd have the depth we need for defense and rebounding.

There is no lock we are getting him. Let's wait and see how it plays out first.

Camby's current starting point for salary, sources said, is $3 million per season on a multiyear deal. The only way for the Heat to make that work is a sign-and-trade with the Houston Rockets, who own Camby's rights. The Rockets, however, are interested in a sign-and-trade with the Knicks but not with the Heat, sources told ESPN.com.

So it looks like we have pieces they want, probably including Toney Douglas given their gaping hole at PG. And it probably means we give up Harrelson, but I don't like that too much. If Greek Papa was coming next year it would be ok, but this still leaves us with only 3 legitimate 4/5's in STAT, Chandler, and Camby. Need another one on the cheap.

Jeffries will probably be back at the vets minimum.

would it be wrong for Jeffries to want a deal like the one Reggie Evans got for 3 years 5m from the Nets?
I think we have his early bird rights, while it isn't much of a difference for a 3 year veteran minimum deal, it gives stability to a player.
We should make more of these type of deals to balance our roster out for stability.
Players like Cory Brewer and Nick Collison are role players, but they are needed to insure their future on the team.
They might not play big minutes but there roles are just as important.

Tyson-Camby-JJ-Shump-Kidd - Now that's defense! - Reserved for times when we go up by 20+ pts.

If Camby can play that role it would be great, I am just not sure if he would be able to at his age.
AK47 would be a player that can fit with that role and be part of our anchor of defense with Iman and Tyson Chandler.

Can we still add Camby ?
