3-4 players, if Lakers were willing to trade earlier, would have been able to dump some salary off, and keep whoever they please.
A combination of their choice of good young players/role players like Beasley, JJ Barea, Webster, AR, Derrick Williams, Brad Miller *expiring team option*, Darko, Wesley Johnson and maybe 1st round pick. Some of those young legs, would be able to restore Lakers bench, and most importantly, many 1year deals if they don't fit.

While Twolves would have a great fit, ball movement, and options with a core of

Rubio/Ridnour
Budlinger
Batumm
Love
Gasol/ Nikola Pekovic

with some players that the Lakers leave out, to be on the bench.
Btw, does anyone know if Budlinger's option was picked up? Because if not he is a UFA, I don't recall reading that the Twolves picked it up...

Joe Johnson may be the most overrated player in the league.

JR Smith would have had the same career if he was the #1 option on a team. And I don't even like JR Smith.

Sorry everyone cant be Lebron. Team is trash.

The Utah teams he lead had MARGINALLY better talent than the Nets and he lead them deep in the west. He made everyone around him better. He was special. He hasn't been special in a year and a half. If you watch some Nets games you'll see how his head has not been in it a lot of games.

Look at the game he torched Lin. He wanted hat game badly, so they won.

I compared him to Marbs because while Marbs always put up numbers, he didn't make anyone better. And while with the nets Deron hasn't been the special player he was in Utah where he didn't have a crazy amount of talent around him either.

Its really stupid. Had they not traded for Gerald Wallace they could of traded for Harden. there were some quotes last year, i think, that sounded awfully marburyesque, as i recall.

we shall see.

It looks like they see Gerald Wallace as one of the premier defenders that is cost efficient vs Lebron James.

At least we didnt give up the 6th pick and 10 million a year for Gerald Wallace. Guy will give the Nets 13 and 7. Billy King is lucky Dwight Howard is trying to force his way there because he seems about half as clueless as Scott Layden

considering the assets we gave up for Melo and that he makes twice as much as Gerald Wallace.
Wallace might not be nearly the scorer Melo is, but he has greater versatility, defense, and has no ego problems.
He is good size and athleticism, whether he is worth trading the 6th pick for, is another story.
Gerald Wallace can play a Shawn Marion role, while Melo, only know's how to play TEAM ME ball.

No player even at pick 6, would be able to defend better than Gerald Wallace on Lebron with his size, athleticism, and all round game.
They would be better offensive options, but that isn't the reason why they got Gerald Wallace.

Aldridge is reporting JJ deal is just about done. Says his source says it will happen with or without commitment from D-Will.
