Does it?
Amare is not a franchise player like Ewing.
Ewing would never have compromised himself by gashing his hand.
Ewing wouldn't have responded to a fan like that.
Ewing was a leader, with class and dignity.
I don't see how comparing questioning Ewing and Amare is even possible in your mind.
And to be clear, I have no words to eat regarding Amare. I've never said he wasn't talented, and never said he wasn't valued. But his regression hurts the club. And so do his immature mistakes.
not comparing Ewing and Amare, only the foolishness of those posts.Ewing was so classy he banged one of the Knicks city dancers
Ewing was so classy he flipped off fans and they threw his poster (give away night) on the garden floor.
Please... give me a break. Ive punched things before in anger. When I was Amare's age it might have been something that could hurt.
PS: I love and have always loved the Ewing led teams. He like Amare is human. Hard for fans to grasp, but they are not video game programs. Then people talk about the loss of his brother like its something he should get over quickly and get back to work.
Amare is one of the most stand up guys this city has seen. Someone trashed the year he had and he called the guy a fag on a personal twitter message? WOW. Oh my.
Funny how you expect Melo to be a program yet Amare gets a pass in your book. Yes I call losing your cool and punching something to be mentally weak. Playing defense and grabbing rebounds is all about mental toughness.
I expect Melo to be a program? No... just take good shots and not quit on the coach. Also I never gave Amare a pass. He had a lousy year, but also had exterior circumstances that contributed to his poor year.
God forbid you lose a family member and then lose your cool. I wonder after dealing with the loss of a close sibling and you flipped how your reaction would be if you were called mentally weak. Maybe you have a zero stress job? I work in a big corporate bank. The rich guys working the phones smash them all the time. Its common place. When guys stop losing their cool they get fired because the perception is they longer care. Maybe you have never experienced such a culture but I have... its everywhere.
Aside from losing his brother, which was a great tragedy obviously, what about Amare supposedly putting on 20 pounds of muscle and growing an inch(still laugh at that one lol)? His words, he didn't even pick up a basketball during the lockout but he put on 20 pounds??? Then it takes Amare the whole season to get into playing shape, and when he finally does, gets the ole bulging disc. It's time to put Amare on blast as well. To me, he had a much much much worst year than Melo. How do you lose your 15-18 footer in one off season? How do you get your shot blocked by the likes of Amir Johnson like 5 times in the same game? How do you not grab more than 3 rebounds in the infamous Chicago game, that D'Antoni resigned shortly after. Let's be fair with the criticisms shall we. Amare was a bum this year. Plain and simple.
Plain and simple your a douche. But like your post above... its just opinion.
Amare worked hard. It didnt work out. Melo quit. It worked out (for him). Thats what I saw. Neither gets a pass, both performed poorly. Both need to bounce back and have all star years.
Simple question, aside from punching the glass, what did Amare do wrong last year? Was he in shape? He showed up ready to play, but after rehabbing an injury all offseason he was rusty and by the time he got it going he had family tragedy and got hurt.
Was Melo forced to be out of shape? Was Melo forced to give poor effort and quit on the coach and team? No.. lets hope both players get their "issues" fixed.
Plain and simple.
