Could Amare's latest blunder send him packing? What are the Knicks thinking about Amare?

Amare still has value, just not $20 Mil value. Do you think the latest PR nightmare has alienated him enough that the Knicks are trying to move him, even at a major loss?

If we had a definite second option at the 4 it would make more sense. But I was thinking about the courting of Lin. The cast? Melo, Chandler, and Woody. What about STAT? Is this the new big 3? Are they wining and dining him to induct him into the club? Melo, Chandler and Lin are working out in Cali. Again, where is STAT? If he is a major component shouldn't he be involved?

I bet there are still 5 or 6 coaches who see Amare as a viable option to improve their team.

So, what is the likelihood that he is not a Knick next season?

He will 100% be a Knick for the entire 2012-2013 season.
Knicks are listening to incoming inquiries.
Knicks are actively calling around to gauge interest.
A deal is already in place. Au Revoir Amare.

We talking about a team that gave a sextual harrasser an extension.

The gay community has more to worry about that Amare using the term "faggot" in a negative way.

It was a poor choice of words but not one that will really hurt his brand.

still a clown question, Bro.

Much better response, minus the part where you go Amare and call people names. Dude, stand-up.

what part of "It was a bad choice of words" do you not understand?

The part where you don't get to show off your moral erection?

THe Wizards are rumored to be trading the 3rd pick in the draft for Pau Gasol. I really wonder if we could of dumped Amare there for that pick

Nah ... Amare could have netted us the first pick (if WE were willing)

Amare is not a franchise player like Ewing.
Ewing would never have compromised himself by gashing his hand.
Ewing wouldn't have responded to a fan like that.
Ewing was a leader, with class and dignity.

I don't see how comparing questioning Ewing and Amare is even possible in your mind.

And to be clear, I have no words to eat regarding Amare. I've never said he wasn't talented, and never said he wasn't valued. But his regression hurts the club. And so do his immature mistakes.

not comparing Ewing and Amare, only the foolishness of those posts.

Ewing was so classy he banged one of the Knicks city dancers
Ewing was so classy he flipped off fans and they threw his poster (give away night) on the garden floor.

Please... give me a break. Ive punched things before in anger. When I was Amare's age it might have been something that could hurt.

PS: I love and have always loved the Ewing led teams. He like Amare is human. Hard for fans to grasp, but they are not video game programs. Then people talk about the loss of his brother like its something he should get over quickly and get back to work.

Amare is one of the most stand up guys this city has seen. Someone trashed the year he had and he called the guy a fag on a personal twitter message? WOW. Oh my.

Funny how you expect Melo to be a program yet Amare gets a pass in your book. Yes I call losing your cool and punching something to be mentally weak. Playing defense and grabbing rebounds is all about mental toughness.

Also I never gave Amare a pass. He had a lousy year, but also had exterior circumstances that contributed to his poor year.

God forbid you lose a family member and then lose your cool. I wonder after dealing with the loss of a close sibling and you flipped how your reaction would be if you were called mentally weak. Maybe you have a zero stress job? I work in a big corporate bank. The rich guys working the phones smash them all the time. Its common place. When guys stop losing their cool they get fired because the perception is they longer care. Maybe you have never experienced such a culture but I have... its everywhere.

Aside from losing his brother, which was a great tragedy obviously, what about Amare supposedly putting on 20 pounds of muscle and growing an inch(still laugh at that one lol)? His words, he didn't even pick up a basketball during the lockout but he put on 20 pounds??? Then it takes Amare the whole season to get into playing shape, and when he finally does, gets the ole bulging disc. It's time to put Amare on blast as well. To me, he had a much much much worst year than Melo. How do you lose your 15-18 footer in one off season? How do you get your shot blocked by the likes of Amir Johnson like 5 times in the same game? How do you not grab more than 3 rebounds in the infamous Chicago game, that D'Antoni resigned shortly after. Let's be fair with the criticisms shall we. Amare was a bum this year. Plain and simple.

Plain and simple your a douche. But like your post above... its just opinion.

Amare worked hard. It didnt work out. Melo quit. It worked out (for him). Thats what I saw. Neither gets a pass, both performed poorly. Both need to bounce back and have all star years.

Simple question, aside from punching the glass, what did Amare do wrong last year? Was he in shape? He showed up ready to play, but after rehabbing an injury all offseason he was rusty and by the time he got it going he had family tragedy and got hurt.

Was Melo forced to be out of shape? Was Melo forced to give poor effort and quit on the coach and team? No.. lets hope both players get their "issues" fixed.

Plain and simple.

By Amare refusing to give max effort, he essentially quit on his team! Now, I know that the Amare defenders will say that he DID give max effort but he is just a dumb defender and rebounder - but I don't buy it for a second! He is not dumb just extremely selfish, lazy and perhaps jealous.

Oh ... and extremely insecure and attention starved. Other than that, he is a swell guy.

To top it off he clearly contibuted to MDA demise by playing when he clearly wasn't 100% recovered from his back injury.

Thanks for the compliment! I like to feel fresh with that vinegary scent. I thought I made it clear what Amare did wrong:

1)Came into training camp 20 pounds overweight
2)Did not pick up a basketball the whole summer during the lockout
3)Forgot how to make a jumpshot
4)Could not dunk on Amir Johnson and various undersized power forwards
5)Failed to box out, show, help, take charges, communicate on D, breathe on offensive players
6)Lost in a one on one fight with a fire extinguisher
7)Looked like a complete hipster tool loser at the Heat game
8)Lost a twitter fight with a fan

Comprende?

Amare is not a great rebounder or defender. Unlike the Melo fans I dont pretend Amare is Wade or Lebron. He's an elite frontcourt scorer and has carried a very small team deep into the playoffs. His addition also turned the Knicks from a lottery team to a playoff team. Player that give you 25/8 and shoot over 50% are rare and Amare (last year aside) has done that his career.

Citing Amare's weaknesses as not giving max effort is a poor example. Like Fields doesnt give max effort because his jumper never falls and Ewing never TRIED hard enough to become a better passer.

Im sorry, having a hole in your game and not playing hard arent the same thing. But keep adding sugar to that koolaid.

Hey, you want Amare gone? Thats fine... ironicly I cant say the same about Melo. Zero desire to see him dumped

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

No, he is not going anywhere since he can't and we can't move him.

I am more worried about his brain than his back.

Amare amare.. I want to like you. Ill give it one more year. Then bring all the hate. All the excuses have been heard to repeat them. Even though like chuckbuck said. You don't lose that J just like that. I play nba2k12 with the knicks and I'm a beast. They need better team play and iq. Mike woodson and co. Need to get to work early. This ragbunch needs more preparation, spirit and morale boost. Best way to do it is practice and win.

Does it?

I expect Melo to be a program? No... just take good shots and not quit on the coach.

Comprende?

Seriously Amare was 10 times worse then Melo last year. Amare spent the lock out wearing little bow ties and going to Fashion shows.U could tell the moment he stepped on the floor last year he was going to be worthless
