There's other ways to contribute. Being a motivator, playing hard in practice, being a good personality all these and more matter for a team to grow. Also some teams need food runners, water getters, door openers and guys that can make good jokes.Roll the dice and eddy fell into one of those categories maybe.
I can truly imagine even Heat bench players getting motivated looking at Eddy. Let alone the Big Three. Picture Eddy during practice opening his mouth without stuffing food or liquids into it, and try and see Wade or Lequeen or even Boshy actually trying to listen to what he has to say. Even under the influence, can you do that, really?
Playing hard in practice. Right.
A good personality. Okay, now this just might require being able to display visible interpersonal skills while not being able to balance a check book, not getting involved in ugliness with your chauffeur, and not providing slightly less tawdry headlines than Metta Whirled Peas.
Team growth. Now there's a good bet for a roll of the dice. Maybe Riley's idea was EC might get a late growth spurt and opposing teams would be afraid of trying to match up against someone listed at 7'3 and 385lbs.
