Odom had a bad season last year so i think we can get him for less and now taht we won the case i can only see nash going to 2 places either here or miami.

Guns is insane lately. Ignore him. Nash is still awesome. Kidd is no longer starter quality. I like Kidd and I'm fine with him as a backup, but there's no comparison here. Preferring Kidd to Nash for 2012-2013 is pure lunacy.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I say no to nash. Lin starts and get Kidd or other capable back up.

Time to start growing our own instead of bringing in the tired.

If there is a thought to play Nash and Lin together Im ok with that.

I like Nash, but lets be real.

MDA is gone. A little late eh?

Ray, Oh Dumb, Nash........

Don't you guys ever learn?

Look who was just in the finals? Not boston and not SAS.

It was younger guys!

Maybe we get creative with our money instead of getting older guys.

Im not saying not to get one, but I don't want Nash and Ray Allen starting.

You can pair Nash and Lin in the same backcourt, especially without Shumpert until January. JR should stick to 6th man role if he resigns, and Allen would be terrific to have period, no matter how you slice it.

Wow, wow, wow! I'm too excited and surprised to even think rationally at the implications of this- i'll do that tomorrow. But for now let's just enjoy the rare victory- after what happened to baron Davis and shump, its great to have some good news for a change.

Not to mention, we desperately need a high percentage three point shooter in the backcourt. Amongst the other things, Nash gives us that in spades.

So it looks like if the Knicks decide to spend ove $3M of the mid level they'll have to operate under a hard cap of $74M all season. They won't be able to exceed that all seson for any reason including injury. That makes it very risky to spend the full $5M, which would likely be what it would take to get Nash. Kind of a bummer.

I KNEW IT!!! It was taking the arbitrator too long if he was just going to uphold the existing rules. Great news!!

Nash and Kidd are too old. go for someone younger. as good as they are, i can see age catching up to them midway through the season.

go for Goran Dragić!

If Dragic will come for $5mill, cool. I'm pretty sure he'll get better offers...

I agree with Nalod, I love Nash, but I don't think we have the right players to fit what Nash does with our lack of ball movement and IQ in our starting lineup.
Nash would also be a huge liability on the defensive end with Lin together, vs Kidd can use his strength to defend SGs if paired together and Kidd would cost much less.

Wow, this is great news for us. However, we still have to be under the 68m after signing Lin and/or Novak, see if JR returns for his contract or looks to opt out for a 20% raise, this would most likely mean the end for Fields if he cannot be signed for 1m or so. Every million makes a huge difference, even with the contracts of Jorts and Jerome Jordon.
If we are over the tax bracket, we not only lose the MLE for the mini MLE at 3m, but we also lose the LLE as well.
I think using part of the MLE for players that fall out of the draft would be great cheap options to build yoots with.
Great news for us Knick fans....

And I am not sure if Lin's and his agent, would like be open to the idea of a player that is capable of taking his starting spot (with Dragic, Nash, Felton, Miller) vs a veteran that will back up. But if Lin wants to stay in New York, he now has the opportunity to make a decent contract, with player options likely....

still not sold on him. Nash is older but the guy is still in great shape and he has played well in phoenix with basically nobody the last 2 years

Who could they appeal to? My understanding of arbitration is that it is supposed to be binding unless the arbitrator is not neutral.
