they were a much better team with the addition of Nene alone, being an offensive threat vs McGee, with his ability to post up, run the floor, mid post, hit a 17footer, and open up the game for the rest of the team. Adding OK4 and Ariza, if they are healthy, provides them with players that are defensive minded, while their they continue to run, and push the tempo.
They can finally form an tough defensive identity, with an uptempo offense, and chemistry for the team.
With the 3rd pick and 32 pick in this draft, they can find great players to continue to build on.
Their payroll is something that they will eventually have to face, when their rookie contracts are up.
But till then, they have many assets to work with, with the ability to add salary, use the MLE next year, continue to draft players, and decide who to keep or move till then.

Washington wont be able to score. Washington is going NOWHERE.

Okafor and Ariza need to be on veteran teams next to a star.

Completely agree. Washington is making the same mistake with John Wall that Cleveland made with Lebron. When your best player is only 21 years old you should be surrounding him with other young players so they can grow together and peak at the same time. Instead, Washington traded away 24 year old Javale McGee and brought in Nene and the perpetually injured Okafor who will both be 30 next season.

I disagree here. They have youth, and have made a lot of moves to acquire it. Now they haven't made OKC type moves or anything, but still, there is young talent on the team around Wall, and veteran leadership is necessary (Fisher, Perkins, Collison, Nazr-Mo) for a young team too. I think adding OK4 and Ariza was a great move. As a matter of fact they should be a team going after a veteran PG to back up Wall.

Ages of Wiz players next year:
John Wall - 22 - 1st overall pick (Wiz pick)
Kevin Seraphin - 22 - 17th overall pick
Chris Singleton - 22 - 18th overall pick (Wiz pick)
Jan Vesely - 22 - 6th overall pick (Wiz pick)
Jordan Crawford - 23 - 27th overall pick
Trevor Booker - 24 - 23rd overall pick

On second thought after reading my own post, Coug, WTF are you talking about? Look at all that youth!

How many of those guys are actually any good? John Wall, Jordan Crawford, Trevor Booker maybe. They have to nail their pick in this draft because they're just good enough that they probably won't be picking this high again and they won't have any cap space to improve their team.

Vesely hasn't proven himself yet but has a shot.
Seraphin has shown TREMENDOUS promise, moreso than anyone on this list with the exception of Wall. Singleton, IDK.

And from your response, you think this team is going to jump out of the lottery pit after 4 seasons in it. That's saying something.
And I agree with the draft. They need a lights out shooter at the 2 who can also defend. Bradley Beal should be that guy, but we'll see.
