SO this guy has a handle.

We have not seen it.

Just going on what some of the hype is. I don't know how anyone can really project what he'll be come. The scouts are foaming at the mouth at his upside.

I don't see it either, but then IM not really looking.

David Robinson had a later growth spurt, and I never thought he had a great post game, even though he was a fine player. He was bigger and heavier than Davis, though.

You can see Davis having trouble establishing an identity on the court, especially if his post game is limited and teams find out that they can back off him a bit because of an erratic jumper.

I actually thought that Duncan was going to have trouble because of a lack of strength, but he had an advanced game in the post while in college, and was able to put on some muscle prior to playing his first game in the NBA.

He has some talent though, and if he has any brains, he will make the adjustments in his game, and to his body, which allow him to maximize his ability.

What would you do if you were New Orleans?

"Mary Schmitt Boyer/Tom Reed: ESPN Insider Chad Ford says NO told #Cavs no thanks when CLE reportedly offered Nos. 4, 24, 33 and 34 for No. 1. Can't blame 'em for trying Twitter"

http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#g10S-r28Q6

I doubt that is true, but that seems like a great deal for giving up 3 spots, for New Orleans if you believe Anthony Davis could develop in to a bust?

I agree Anthony Davis is raw, it is possible that he will develop in to a player similar to

Ok4
Antonio Davis
Greg Oden
Dalembert
Brandon Wright that is taller/bigger, which was a lottery pick you really once liked

Having long arms/reach/ and good size certainly doesn't make you an "ALL STAR" but it certainly does help in the pro level.
He is being picked due to potential and length, winning the NCAA certainly helped.

Wondering what type of player you think he will develop in to, if any of the above?
I think he can be a better version of OK4 with more all round game....

The number 1 position in any draft in almost any sport is one of the most precious commodities. To offer that package is a low ball and turning it down is a no brainer. Do I think davis is going to be a b ust? No way--he'll be a good player--but franchise 25-12 player like a Patrick Ewing--Im doubting it(although there are some similarities between Ewing and Davis)

He's better than Jordan. He was better as a freshmen than Jordan was and has more overall skills. He also 30 pounds of muscle bigger.

Yeah, if you compare what Drummond did in his college career with what Jordan did, than there is no way you can say Jordan is better. That said, it would have been nice to see Drummond have a more dominant season. I give him some leeway because UConn hoops was a bigger mess than usual this year. That said, I don't see Drummond ever developing into a dominant big man. His motor and demeanor just isn't built for it.

Davis is 19. Robinson as 24 when he hit the league.

Most of us never even knew of him until he was a senior in college (Robinson).

He is the no. 1 pick on potential and scouts think there is enough there to warrant being the no. 1 pick.

His toughest task will be dealing with expectations.
