Ray's had a great career, maybe Hall of Fame worthy, but seeing him play yesterday was sad. Bone spurs or not, the guy cannot even make his free throws consistently anymore. No more damaged, old goods please!

1 reason why we were not better than we were was guard play--especially from the point. If you look at what Patty did surrounded by better players---shooting 43% from the almost 49% from the field--having a few explosive games--this guy is an NBAer who is undervalued. We cant afford 5-6mm $ players--but to get him for 1.5-2.0mm would be ano brainer for me. Just need to work it out with LIn.

Entire offseason hinges upon this Bird Rights decision. If they rule in our favor we can keep Lin and Novak and go in any number of different directions with the MLE. I think the real "win now" decision would be to go after Nash and see if you can add Odom for the minimum. Nash/Lin splitting time at PG could completely change our offense and make the Amare/Melo thing work. Total pipe dream though.

I would agree but even if we get Lin/Novak Bird Rights, we would still be hoping that Nash signs with the MLE.

This will be a long shot Reality now is use of the MLE and understanding of who we need to spend it on. It is possible with JR smith getting in trouble he will opt in--but he needs to be honed in in his game himself. My hope is the Knicks can convince Lin to take a 5 yr 18mm contract with an early opt out so we have the 2mm per to spend. We really need the PG help

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I hope so, but seems unlikely. If we do win, my top choices for the mid level are OJ Mayo, Marco Belinelli, and Courtney Lee.
If we lose, we may have to forgo signing Novak with the bi annual and look at SGs like Randy Foye, Gary Neal, and Jodie Meeks who can fill a bigger void.

There is no team, nor will there be a team, in the NBA that stacked with veterans at the F/C position. How the hell would a coach deal with rotations of Melo, STAT, Chandler, Odom, AND Camby? It's overkill partner. Remove Camby, insert Jorts. Much more probable, even if we get the Bird Rights.

I worry about Camby. He was a Knick when he was better known as "Humpty Camby". He just couldn't stay healthy. Now we could end up getting him at that stage of his career, again. Too bad we didn't have Marcus in the in between years, but I understand why they moved him.

I can see what yourr saying abt camby...but jorts sux...id rather keep gadzuric...the fact that he got ANY playing shows me how injured the team was. Hes a big man who cant shoot or finish. Yes he plays hard on d but if hes in r rotation were screwd. Rather hv camby

You're wrong. I'm not saying he will ever not be a bench player, but he's coachable, works the pick and roll, and when he is confident in his shot he can hit mid-range and behind the arc. He has the respect of his teammates, and can hit a hook shot. We'll see.

Jorts do suck, but Josh Harrellson has the potential to be a very solid role player.

please dont get me wrong; I hope he turns out to be a star. I like to root for all the knicks. But my intuition says hes a bench warmer who should NOT be seeing significant minutes.
