But why is he doing favors for the Knicks. he can go anywhere and play for the Vet min why would he chose here. Plus any money u make here is even worse because of the taxes

agreed. Guys like Kidd and Nash will be able to get more than the mid level. Only way we upgrade the point is through trade. No one is looking to do New York any favors

Yes, and he would have a great opportunity to rejuvenate his career here.

Why come to NY and be heavily taxed and only have to give a hefty portion of it back? That being said, I'd love to have Camby as a backup. Kidd, still don't like over his days as a Net. Odom I think would be a nice pickup.
That is a great point about the income tax. I know Florida doesn't have a state income tax either. It puts teams that do in a compromised position. Also, Kidd won in Dallas and Cuban seems to take care of his guys. His leadership would be welcome and he a nice addition if he decided to come.

Whats wrong with odom if he will come home for the Vet min? He is much younger and than Camby & more durable and wont mind coming off the bench

What's wrong is inside of his cranium. The man is away too soft and I don't want a Kardashian to be added to this three ring circus.

I think Woodson will get the most out of him. As far as the Kardasian, I think she's a non-factor

As far as I know Kidd is not going to be cheap, he said it himself.

My dream off season would be:
Get the bird rights of Lin and Novak and sign them

Sign nash with the full MLE

Sign Reggie evans with the bi-annual

OR
Hope JR takes the player option
Sign Kirk hinrich(Good defender, combo guard, High IQ) for partial of the MLE
Sign Anthony parker
If ever! Sign Lamar odom with the rest of the MLE
Trade douglas for anything even a late 2nd round pick

This should be the rotation:

Lin/Hinrich/
Parker/Smith/Hinrich
Melo/smith/Novak
Amare/odom/Novak
Tyson/Jeffries/

Then when shumpert returns we can fix it depending on player performance

You get depth, rebounders, shooters

I like the idea of Hinrich. Guys isn't a knockdown shooter but he doesn't make dumb decisions either.

I think Parker is shot at this point in his career and I'd rather keep fields. I think Hinrich would be a solid addition and he can play the two-guard from time to time. As far as Odom, I'd take a chance on him. But he'd have to take considerably less money. But I could see Odom going to someplace like Miami next season.

As great as this looks, I think it doesn't do the future of the franchise any justice. If we are gonna spend the money and give out new contracts it should be for guys that are liquid, guys who can get a 2 year contract, work to improve their game, and be a trade-worthy asset. I'm down with Kidd, but Camby is overkill. He's just too old. Knicks have a bad habit of picking up guys in the twilight of their career. And a bad habit of taking guys back who have given their all to other clubs and then catch an injury because they try too hard in NYC, and the expectations are so high here.

Kidd, Yes, but let Bibby explore, let Camby find another contender. Get some youth instead. Some JJ Hickson, some Ryan Hollins, some Courtney Lee...

And forget Lamar Odom. Just let him work out his personal troubles in Charlotte or Washington.

Belinelli would be nice. If we get the ruling that Knicks get Bird Rights for Lin and Novak then we can use part or all of the MLE on Belinelli.

PG-Lin
SG-Belinelli - Until Shump is back
SF-Melo
PF-STAT
C-Tyson

That would actually work, assuming STAT dedicates himself to rebounding.

that's the problem. Why would we expect him to become a better rebounder now, when for years he's tuned out the criticism about him being such a bitch on the boards. Same with defense....dude has to know how bad he is and has never made an effort to improve. Sadly, we are stuck with a lazy guy who only wants to play on one side of the ball, even though his offensive has been pretty bad this year.

WTF happened to his jump shot??? Like someone said, when it's not falling, he resorts to barreling into the paint, resulting in either a charge, turn over or both.

This lineup would be ideal at this point in time. Even when Shumpert comes back, keep him as the 6th man. We need shooting in the lineup, especially with Lin and Melo on the floor, and Belinelli would be perfect.
