Its is definitely a gamble but his upside looked incredible. We need to chance it - he is 23 and will/can get much much better.

I don't think its fair to the team for Amare to put up a halfass effort over 80& of games

Its not his fault, its Melos

Who is not a gamble? Felton? Nash (39)?

It's comes down to who is less of a gamble...so do u think Lin is ready to compete against the Heat next year?

Switch it to Felton and I have the same lack of confidence against the Heat. Now granted Lin looked awful against the Heat but the hope is that he could learn from that from experience. That was definitely alarming though

Linsanity occurred under MDA, never forget that.

I have high doubts he can reach those levels great play under this Melo ISO offense.

Had enough Melo?

Nash makes Nash good

Lin makes Lin good

TD made TD bad

Felton got fat

Or how about this one...

Nash became the Nash we know after playing for MDA. They never really changed the system in Phoenix.

Lin played well (although super high turnovers) under MDA's offense. It was very evident of MDA's style and the closest thing we have had since Felton ran it.

Who is TD?

MDA has been a miserable disaster as a coach except when Nash made him look good

This is no fun

That's true. The fun was lost when we strayed so far from the topic of Linsanity occurring under MDA.

The Felton I remember as a Knick called his own number too much, couldn't run the P&R with Stat, or stay in shape. We need to find a real floor general to make these pieces fit.

Nash taking another offer or staying in Phoenix shouldn't stop the Knicks from trying to get some veteran leadership at point. I know some posters want to crown Lin the heir apparent but he still needs seasoning. Lin would do well to learn from a veteran PG.

Errr....Felton was talked about as being a borderline all star if I remember correctly and after the first month of learning to figure out the pick and roll STAT was considered first half MVP...Felton was 17 and 9 here off the top of my head with decent defense to boot..Shape was never a question when he was here either...

Fact is the Knicks cannot come back next year again with its backcourt being a question mark...It just cannot happen..

Felton put up some decent numbers for a while but he still wasn't a very effective floor general. That matters more than having part of a good season statistically. He couldn't make it work with Stat then, what makes you think he can do it now? If Felton was all that he wouldn't have been traded to Portland for Andre Miller.

everyone understands we need to add a young backup pg who can push the temple or a veteran so Lins minutes can be kept around 30-35 to prolong his knick career anx give us better depth then just mike bibby
