My fear is he gets a TD like extension for 5 frickin years

Sadly we have to keep him since his replacement would likely be worse.

Fields versus other teams bench is good. Fields versus other teams starters is bad.

Honestly, I really do not think he as bad as you guys are letting on. He is a willing passer, cuts well to the basket, has awareness to create space and is a very willing and capable defender.

Do you not see these things in his game?

Agreed; he had a down year but has plenty of skills. He's worth a small contract, and right now, the only healthy back-court member we have is Toney Douglas. We are DESPERATE for back-court players.

I agree we need a back SG to start while shump rehabs. Like a Belinelli. Fields is not the answer. There is ray allen but at his age you can find someone on the cheap who can be more effective

What I really don't like is that last year he was a monster on the offensive glass - what happened this year?

Fields didn't have a good year, but that doesn't mean you dump him, especially since he's an early bird rights player and you have to get players that don't take on a lot of salary or that don't affect the cap.

Not to call you out but what other capable two guard would not be able to take advantage of being played by 4s and 5s?

Sorry, one more time?

Are you saying Haslem and Bosh were guarding Fields and he failed to take advantage?

During April he was guarded by teams 4s and 5s and could not take advantage of that. He was guarded by Boozer which is much worse.

Fields is not a 2 guard. He's an SF being forced to play out of position.

Yup - that is evident when he puts up those monstrous numbers when we play him at SF

Even worse because in April he was playing the three and Shump started at the two. So since he was in his correct position what was the excuse?
