I guess you are all referring to my "championship level" comment. Allow me to rephrase that remark. I should have said "elite level" as in what Nash is and Lin isn't. I like Lin but the kid isn't ready to lead this team to a title, not even close.

All the heat I got for suggesting during Linsanity that it would end. Same people who think Lin is still that guy. He's a good PG who might turn into something more some day. To make this dysfunctional squad work we need a great PG. Either that or break up the team.

I'd still take Nash for the next couple of seasons because of this roster. If Nash wasn't available Dragic would be a step up from Lin IMO. We would get some of the athleticism that we wouldn't get from Nash.

And what happens when dragic comes here for the full mle and under performs under the pressure of new york when lin already proved he can handle it. Then we have a million threads about dragic being untraceable?

Given Miami's salary cap situation, they won't be able to offer Nash anything more than the mid-level exception without shaking up their roster. However, it isn't out of the norm for an aging NBA superstar to give up significant amounts of money, simply to compete for an NBA title.

Fortunatly for the Knicks and others, Miami should not even have the MLE because they will be over the salary tax line.

He should go to either Miami or OKC. He and Dwight Howard would be nasty too though.

You're right. Anderson, Reddick, Torkoglu, and J Rich are all very good perimeter shooters. If Dwight's coming back healthy, that would be a great fit for Nash.

This is no reflection of any hatred towards Lin as many believe here..Lin isn't ready to come up against teams like the Heat..Thats a fact..If the Knicks lock Lin up at the MLE, that's it..We will be over the cap where we can't sign another person at the MLE for years to come...Lin isn't ready to lead this team...No shame in playing behind Nash for a year or two..

No possibility for that to happen either

How exactly do the knicks afford to sign both Lin and Nash. Sorry but if I had to pick I would pick the up & coming Lin over the 440 whatever year old who doesnt even guarantee beating the Heat. This was virtually Lin's rookie year and he did a hell of a job and will only get better for years to come.

The Knicks window with its two stars are three years tops...Lin is a few years away...Really , Are u guys comparing Lin to Nash??

Lin could take less money with the thinking he can make more on endorsements on the Knicks...Giving Lin the MLE doesn't change the roster for the next year...The Heat will run us over again a year from now..

Might have to breakup amare & melo as Amare's contract becomes easier to trade

Well bringing in Nash and mortaging the future is not going to help either. Do the Knicks with Nash beat this Heat team?

If fully healthy, including Lin and Shumpert, yes, I think so. Let's not forget that Nash is not only a phenomenal playmaker, but one of the best 3-pt shooters in the league. He really is a great complement to the rest of our roster (except on defense), and our biggest problem against the Heat was getting into offensive ruts, which lead to bad possessions, which lead to turnovers.
