We need TD to just do the simple things. He doesn't have to do a lot. Just defend, bring the ball up and make that basic initial pass. Keep moving and it the open shot. I still think he can do this. He can't run very technical sets, but just doing the basics is something I think he can handle.

earthamnsurfer, I also want to remain positive about the Knicks. But right now they need an alignment of planets on a Mayan scale: a Bibby-Douglas-Fields-Smith event with a Harrelson-Jeffries sighting.

I will enjoy these games as long as there is a fight in the Knicks and they don't go on some brain-freeze that blows out the game. I know these are the last few games until October (arrgghhhhhh) and the return of a healthier team.

Bottom Line: Toney Douglas cannot be trusted to suddenly have a basketball epiphany in game 5.

"In 83 minutes this series, Mike Bibby has coughed up the ball only four times, by far the lowest rate of any Knicks guard.

Granted, many of those minutes have come at the two guard position, where Bibby’s role has been less distributor and more spot-up shooter. Still, the Knicks’ top three lineups this series in terms of overall +/- have included Bibby, with the unit of Bibby, J.R. Smith, Carmelo Anthony, Jared Jeffries and Tyson Chandler (+9) being the most productive (statistics are from NBA.com).

We gotta run with the men who have proven they can handle pressure.

If, by some miracle, Tony Douglas can have a good game and contribute something, I will take that.

Douglas can drive and finish OK. Don't overlook his defense. I'm not saying he is the savior but he can be an important piece and if Quauntum Physics and String theory are at all right, the hate around here isn't helping him nor the team. Bring some good vibes. He has my support tonight and if he doesn't play well, well, play him or JR, whoever plays better.

These Toney Douglas posts remind me of those people who wanted Kurt Thomas gone, that doing that alone would be addition by subtraction.

We understand Toney hasn't looked good this year. But in the past he was a positive contributor. Sure, he may not fit the role we have him trying to play.

Woodson should just tell Toney, relax- have fun. Don't worry about trying to hit a five pointer by yourself. Be yourself, play d, hit the open shot and man, and get in the lane if you can.

Durzoblint - Did you read my post? I said Tony isn't a PG. He is an undersized SG who can play defense and at one time had a great shot and was able to create quite well.

Nixluva - I agree. Tony still can play PG and bring the ball up but that is not his skill (though with Miami's pressure defense it is nice that he can bring the ball up). TD needs to drive and dish, or at least learn how and I admit he isn't great at it. Perhaps we can have some plays designed to help him there (cutters).

Mistereal - How much worse can it get (as long as TD does not play pg) than how JR shot last game? I don't think much worse. Again, he shouldn't be in a position to play PG as a creator.

Look, he is going to get minutes. Woody said so today. I'm just hoping his shot is on tonight.

Did anybody see Wade take shots at Bibby. Look Bibby is a dinosaur but this a perfect oppurtunity for bibby to prove he still has some juice left

The Answer Man Prays For An Alignment of Planets on a Mayan Scale

Q. ems: How much worse can it get (as long as TD does not play pg) than how JR shot last game?

A. Mike Bibby will be good for 20 good minutes. Dangerous. JR Smith is crazy enough to push the tempo for 10. He could explode or implode. Toney Douglas plays tentative basketball. That is not a bad thing but you cannot win playing tentative basketball.

Go all in or go home.
