I thought he played amazing ball before Melo got here. IN some ways, better than Melo.

Speaking of lazy, everytime Melo missed he sulked and didn't get back up the floor.

Both of them need to figure this out. They are too good to play this mish/mosh style.

Loved Stat for all he gave us for half a season last year, but him not boxing out, not giving effort on D, not mixing it up inside...just hurting the Knicks at this point. Now he cuts his hand punching a fire extinguisher jeopardizing another body the Knicks cannot be without. STUPID.

but he probably has to be packaged with lin if you really want to move him.

LOL, sign and trade Lin with Amare for Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace............. hmmm, that's not a joke on second thought.

jeremy lin is worth $500 Million in marketing dollars. that would be enticement enough to take on amar'e's deal.

I dont think Lin is tradeable, the value he has to MSGs bottom line is probably too much to overlook. I would trade him to a smaller market team that had trouble being profitable, but I'd need an unprotected pick and a good player in return.

Dont know if the basketball value of a trade like that will override the financial value of having Lin on the team. But I'd do it in a heartbeat. I dont dislike Lin, I just dont think hes our longterm answer at the point.

If thats true, that may be exactly why he will not be traded. I'd take Ray Felton back in a heartbeat.

He might be worth 500 thousand after next season - who knows. Lets sell high!

what is it "What have you done for me lately" with AMARE.. He resurrects our franchise, puts us back to respectabilty, was the reason behind mel and tyson siging here..And now he's like the biggest loser 12 months later..

Amare is not getting the 20 touches he was getting before, he is seeing the ball (at best) 2 possession in a row..

when melo was getting the same treatment when he joined the linsanity, and getting his touches far and in between, shooting 30%, most fans wanted him gone..Amare and Lin go down he gets in rythem, gets his touches 10 in a row = Player of the month.

Amare looks like he lost a step in one play, then skies over tyrus thomas for what -has to be- one of the best dunks this season.

I have been saying it for a long time. You can also look at it that he has crippled this franchise. It's all about how you think he will play out his contract. or if ...

For the record I was PISSED when we signed him. Didn't really find him to be that good of a player, and was concerned about him breaking down.

Last year he showed that he had alot more in his repertoire than I thought and he overachieved in my eyes. I was happy he played so well, but still had major concerns about his resemblance to Kurt Thomas on defense, and a body that I figured was ripe to break down.

Defense & rebounding still suck, and his body is breaking down. I'm back to my original position, we shouldn't have gotten him. In fact, we would have been better off with Chris Bosh. I know hindsight is 20-20, but if you could plug Bosh in right now, isn't that a major upgrade?

The only person I wanted less than Amare for the max was Joe Johnson. I would have set myself on fire in front of MSG as protest.

Amare hasn't been all bad, he played at an MVP level for the first half of the season last year. We've seen very little since.

Melo is the better player on every level, thats why when we got him I wanted to move Stat immediately. It was cold blooded, I know, but it would have been best. ITs still the best thing.

The only way to get value out of Amare as a knick player is if we get Nash next year. Otherwise, he's utterly useless.

Gotta look to blame someone in defeat.

Nice job knick fans. The guy is playing back from injury and many want to hit the "emotional trade button" as if that will help.

They guy is trying. Had a bit of pressure trying to work it thru with Carmello. His physical condition was not in place. His brother died. he loved his brother. He lost the weight and got back into condition and was playing brilliantly until his back gave out. He at least came back and played and has been getting better every game.

Is he enough to beat Miami?

No. Were individually have good talent but not collectively to beat Miami.

And trading him to a small market team like charlotte for Magette and Diop is so no going to happen. Charlotte is rebuilding not flat out failing with no purpose. Amare has 65 million left on his uninsured contract. Most teams can't take that risk.

Amare is human and after all that happened he freaking blew his top. Stupid move and careless.

We get beat by a better team. suck it up fans, just recognize it and have some class in defeat.

Especially by someone who will only watch the game on fast forward DVR.

Yes, Bosh performed so well with his 9 points in Game 1. You're funny: tune in next week to hear Killa4luv say: "wouldn't CP3 be an upgrade over an injured Linsanity?" "Aren't Gallo's dunks in a playoff loss more inspirational than Melo's?"

Killa4luv wrote:The only person I wanted less than Amare for the max was Joe Johnson. I would have set myself on fire in front of MSG as protest.

No, you wouldn't have, because you'd still be sitting there trying to decide if you should use the Bic lighter or a kitchen match.

Despite the fact Stat's got a max contract, and we all know how easy those things are to move immediately. Despite the fact that I was happy two or three sentences ago with his overachieving play. Despite the fact I'll change my mind about melo next week.

Good thing martin and andrew let women post here. It's always good to get this type of menopausal view on things...
