if I recall, he had meniscus damage. Some posters didn't want to trade for Chris Paul because of that.

Paul didn't have meniscus damage. He had his meniscus REMOVED.

There was some confusion about it, but it turns out he didn't have the whole meniscus removed, just the part that was torn- so he has less of it, but it wasn't all taken out.

Its not worth risking the future. I mean Shump is already gonna miss a month of the season. I mean the Knicks just have bad injuries so i cant blame them.

It wasn't considered a serious injury. If the docs clear him to not only workout but eventually play its cuz they don't fear risk of further injury. He had the knee cleaned up not repaired as in reattaching something. I still don't think he'll be rushed back in just for this series. I think they'll want to be sure he is strong enough to really play.

Miami took Linsanity out the back door, pissed on it, defecated on it, then put a bullet in it.

So after the kid missed 4-5-6 weeks and has his knee operated any writer suggesting this is pretty stupid.

Its hard to imagine this series being anything but a sweep after yesterdays disaster.

But stranger things have happened.

Actually in the 2008 playoffs, when Mike Woodson was coaching the Hawks vs the Celtics, the Celtics crushed the Hawks 104 to 81 in game 1, then 96 to 77 in Game 2, but the Hawks ended up fighting back and taking it to game 7.

Look game 1 was a complete annihilation, but we weren't playing the way we're capable of. With a healthy Tyson, a Melo hitting his shots, and no ref screwage, maybe we're more competitive.

Rose and Shump weren't doing anything unusual when their knees went. Lin's knee will be evaluated and if it's sound that's all you can do. You can't be in fear of a catastrophic injury if the docs say he's fit to play.

Regardless, the boy is fragile. He could barely take the hits in the regular season.I doubt he will be able to take the hits of the Miami Heat-Playoff version.

Here's a vid from him yesterday:

And here's a photo of him practicing drills with the team today:

Note, no Tyson, no Bibby and no BD in that photo

I wouldnt say Fragile. injuries happen. look at rose he gets injured mroe than anybody. melo got hurt a lot during the season as well. Now i dont think lin should come back when he isnt ready i would rather wait until next year when he will be 100%

Here's an interview w/ Lin from today and he doesn't make any insinuations that he would be ready before the 2nd round (if there is one). I'm glad he's taking it day by day, its better to be smart than stubborn in a situation like this. He says he's working on it to the point he doesn't have to think about the knee. If he's thinking too much not confident the knee can perform and respond to the stress he's only going to be playing hesitantly and not aggressively. He's got a good head on his shoulders to not bow to any pressure to rush back, which is most likely speculation...unless Baron goes out too and we're left with Bibby and JR. On another note, Steve Nash would be amazing right about now.

Isn't this the perfect end to this crazy movie - "The 2011-2012 Knicks Saga - The Jeremy Lin Story"?

Lin comes back down 3-0 and dominates!! Spread Offense returns, Lin killing Miami's trap, Melo hitting 3's non-stop from the corner, Amare shutting down Lebron, Knicks win the next 4 and sail through the Finals!!

Woody gets a 10 year 100 million uninsured contract!

It's gotta be!

Even if Lin did return, he isn't going to suddenly produce huge numbers like he did during his Linsanity run.

I've said early in the year that we're dangerous if all our guys are healthy. Now, I don't care anymore.... Sure we'll play hard but Heat are just going to play even harder.
Shump going down with a knee injury drove the final nail into the coffin.

Lin Reports Soreness in Knee

A day after playing one-on-one for the first time, Lin reported soreness in his surgically repaired knee, an indication that he needs more time to recover

I hope they have him shut it down until next season.

The only injury we had is Lin and now Shumpert.

Jeffries knee, Tyson's wrist, Amare's back, Tyson and Douglas's flu. It is a seven game series. If you have a compromised Chandler or a Chandler that can't play as is being reported for game 2 that is a huge loss. A lot of guys have nagging injuries at this point but the Knicks have the potential to have 5 guys not able to take the floor tomorrow night on their roster because of the flu or injuries.
