If it's the same bug BD had, then the recovery time scale is maybe 5 days. BD was ill but played (and had an awful game) vs Boston on the 17th, missed the game on the 18th, and the game on the 20th. He then returned on the 22nd and had his best game of the season.

According to the reports Tyson was ill and in bed all day Thursday, he hasn't eaten much and is feverish. Not good.

Someone throw Toney Douglas off a moving plane.

I just want to say...

WHY THE FUDGE DOES EVERYTHING WITH THIS TEAM HAS TO BE SO FREAKING DIFICULT AND OUT OF NORMAL?!?

The most important game of the season, we are already missing a big part of the team and another huge part of it gets the flu? HOW TF does that happen? If this was Douglass, I want him vanished from the team forever!

THIS IS INSANE!

This game is just too important for something like this to happen. The team has gone too much of a frikkin' rollercoaster ride and fought through too much adversity to start falling the hell apart now...

I think this is all just hype to build up the drama of the series. Tyson Chandler plays, goes beast mode, and the media says: "WOW, Tyson Chandler persevered through the flu and helped the team gut out the game 1 win against the Heat!"...

I can see the headlines now... lol

If he does have the flu, I still see him playing and the same story plays out, while he sneezes in the faces of LeBron, D-Wade and avatar Bosh in the process.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

If he really is feverish, not eating, and in bed - then I am not so sure he will play. He is a champion though and I trust he will do what's best for the team whether that is resting up for game 2 or playing in game 1.

There is only one silver lining to his: Amare could move to the 5, keeping Melo at the 4 and that could work out okay.

But we're not doing anything in this post-season without Tyson.

Those are positives but they'd be outweighed by Tyson's absence

Chandler needs to watch the Jordan's flu game before he starts.

Being a mets fan I am used to all the bad luck but I feel that if amare has a big game on both sides of the court we could oversome this. as good as the heat are they dont have the bigs that the bulls do and they dont have the bench we have. Obviously tyson is probably the most important piece on the defensive side but hopefully they could suck it up for one game and tyson will be back for game 2

Accoring to beat writers on twitter, latest is Tyson has arrived at the arena, he managed to eat this morning and will work out before deciding if he can play- game time decision. Al Iannazzone thinks he might not play, Steve Popper is convinced he will- both are speculating!

Tyson Chandler on the court shooting. Looks, well, sick. I still say he plays. There are gatorade commercials that have to be made.

This is where Amare needs to have a huge game because we can play small against the heat.

Chandler is starting, according to Howard Beck's Twitter- he looks tired, weak and ill though.

Lineups just landed. Tyson Chandler is starting

Knicks: Chandler, Stoudemire, Anthony, Shumpert, Davis. Heat: Bosh, Haslem, James, Wade, Chalmers.

"Tyson is deflecting and infecting"!
