let him get blocked. It means he's attacking the basket in the paint, and I cant think of anyone that gets his own rebound faster than Melo. Melo in the paint is always a good thing

Agreed. He's still making 61% of his shots at the rim. So it's still a high percentage shot.

He scores there every time, 61% of the time. He gets blocked 7% of the time, so that leaves 32%. Even if he goes to the line half of those times(16%), it's still a good because then only about 16%+7%=23% he does not score in the paint. Meaning 77% of the time he puts points on the board. I'd say that's pretty good
