Fields plays the 2 when Novaks 3?

Or does fields slide to pine where Billy sat?

does the record automatically reflect if someone is helping/hurting team?

I think Fields is hurting team, and the coach has marginalized his play by reducing minutes.

Woody definitely doesn't play Fields in 4th quarters, when the game is on the line.

Fields came into the season unprepared. His jump shot has regressed tends to disappear in big games. All this is a factor in Fields not playing heavy minutes which is ok because his play is determining his minutes that is the way it should be.

Better form on his jumper will do wonders for his game not a bad player, just a poorly prepared player.

This was a surprise. After Lin and Novak, I trust our player evaluators- hopefully he has some game left in him. With Amar'e at risk of re-injuring himself, JJ possibly out (they are resting him for a while to see if he can be ready for the playoffs, according to Hahn), and Jorts in a slump, we really needed some PF/C insurance for the playoffs.

I know Billy Walker sucked the past 2 seasons, and he has put on weight (again) since his injury, but I do kind of feel sorry for him- cut from the team after all this time, just as they make the playoffs. I was always optimistic he'd improve his game, but he just seemed to decline after that promising first season he was with us.

Are yous saying his reduced minutes are hurting his game?

I think melo shooting more has taken away some of his space and shots. Not saying thats a bad thing, but He is not getting the looks he got with MDA.

If he is rebounding, slashing and passing and playing good defense he is not hurting us.

I would not be so quick to throw him under the bus. This season has a different sense of urgency but next year we likley won't have JR smith or Novak. A tweek to his shot would do wonders for his game!

This season we do what we need to make a run.

Knicks kept Billy through the surgery even know they were loaded at SG/SF, so I don't feel sorry for him getting cut at this time, especially considering he got fat during his time away.

Have you been watching the games? Fields is taking wide open shots that defenses are giving him and flat out missing. By a wide margin.

I am saying that because his game sucks, the coach has reduced his minutes.

I gotta say I like Landry opening the game slashing to the basket..It seem like he kinds of breaks the ice in the first qt..He brought a sort of balance to the offense..His shot has gone off track but I still think he has a lot of offer this team as a starter...I love Shump but we will see...Shump has to move more without the ball...

Looks like he's been playing in China and then the D-League this past year.

Averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds in 36 minutes with the Jiangsu Dragons (8 games), and more recently, 12 points, 11 rebounds in 25 minutes with the Texas Legends (12 games).

no, JJ2 must be hurting. And JJ3 sucks.

Then wouldn't Joe Smith be a better signing?

perhaps this is how the Knicks decided:

Knicks were monitoring D-League for veteran bigs. Mikki Moore and Dan Gadzuric were best options. Gadzuric will be eligible for playoffs.

I have watched, and his shot sucks.

We are 15-5 and he is nowhere to be seen in the 4th.

Thus, he is not killing us. His shot totals are not that high.

He is playing under 20 min a game of late.

Novak gets his minutes. Novak can't do what he does with starters minutes. Shump fresh in the 4th gives us some good stops at crunch time.

I wonder if Lando goes deep in the bench?

Walker was providing some nice instant offense earlier in the season but that was then.. Haven't seen Gadzuric play in a while but its nice to have some more height off the bench.

I saw this on Posting and Toasting and thought it was pretty funny:
A quick synopsis of Bully's Knick career
2009-2010 season – Arrives in a trade deadline deal for Nate Robinson, along with J.R. Giddings. Ends up starting at shooting guard toward the end of the year and actually shoots quite efficiently, though doesn’t play much D.

2010 offseason: Loses a bunch of weight at Knicks behest, goes to summer league, doesn’t play very well.

2010-11 season: Loses out to Landry for starting SG position. Ends up in and out of rotation. Survives Melo trade. Actually starts a game during Landry’s late season swoon. Outplays Landry in Celtics sweep, which is not saying much.

2011 offseason: Survives Chauncey / Chandler and all other roster moves. Grows mini-dreads (or braids or whatever they are).

2011-12 season: Actually in rotation for large swaths of the season. Starts at SF when Melo is hurt. Survives trade deadline. Does not get cut to sign J.R. Smith despite having an expring deal. Hurts elbow. Gains weight. Makes brief return to rotation. Still on team as Knicks clinch playoff spot.

After all this, it’s kind of sad that Bully gets dropped now. Fare well, Bully, I think you’re kinda OK.

Just wanted to say Dan Gadzuric is TERRIBLE. Dude has lead hands, cant shoot, cant dribble, cant pass. There is a reason he isn't in the NBA.

Luckily the odds of him seeing the court are slim to none.

This tells me they don't believe Jordan can help them or play defense on their playoff run as a possible backup C in case Jeffries can't come back. Because if they did, I believe they would've signed a PG. Although, the last couple of games Bibby has looked decent, which helps.

Ballsy move would be to waive Douglas and sign a PG, but that isn't happening with his extra year and the possibilities, though remote right now, of trading him at some point this offseason or next season.

Hope Gadzuric helps if/when his name is called. I hope this also means they are somewhat confident that Lin will make his return during the playoffs, which would render unnecessary to sign another PG.

I don't like this move. Kind of reminds me of the Patriots Ahole move just before the Super Bowl where the cut a player.
