You'd do that only two games over .500, the Bucks still close to us and with the possibility of facing Miami or Chicago in the first round if we make the playoffs? Think again.
We have to do our very best to win that game. We have to play like we did against Miami except for the last 6 minutes. We have the defense to win that game. We have to keep our focus and push so we get a much needed win against them.
We still haven't made the playoffs so no need to act like its a forgone conclusion.
Take a look around the league..most playoff teams are very cautious with there stars going down the strectch..
Most of those teams have all but assured a playoff spot and have enough of a lead over their next competitor so they would keep their position.
Point is, there is still a chance we don't make the playoffs. I understand the concern because last season's playoff run could've been a better one had we had Stat and Billups available for all of it. While I do agree that we shouldn't activate Stat for Boston if he isn't ready to go, I disagree with the notion that we should just lay dead against Boston and play all our available weapons against the Nets. We've battled hard the last few games with the guys we have and if we stick to our game for 48 minutes, we can beat Boston without Amar'e.
But a 31-29 team in the 8th spot with the Bucks still close and Orlando possibly falling down should try to win all the games they can. If we were in Miami's or Chicago's position, I'd say "why not?" But we still have yet to officially make the playoffs and a win against Boston could mean down the road that we avoid Miami and Chicago. Why not try your best to get that?
