Melo is clearly the best player to wear a knicks uniform since Patrick Ewing.

Why did you leave out Allan Houston and Spree? They should be in the conversation, I believe.

i don't know know maybe because they played with Ewing and JVG when we had a good team. They didn't necessarily have a winning career after JVG left. In fact lottery years. They were not superstars only borderline allstars. Melo is a star and this Knick team would be the 1st or 2nd seed in the East if Woodson started the year

Loved Spree and Houston, but like Guns mentioned they were both a tier below Melo. Houston was a great shooter with the "Bounce that went in". Spree had that good playoff run in '99, but neither he or Houston were of the caliber of Anthony.

The "Best player since Ewing" title would surely go to Gallinari.

Man, you guys are easy to sell bridges to. Here, I have a bridge over NOTHING to sell you.

This guy, Melo, he's on a little spurt, no surprise, we've seen stuff like this before. Shit, even Stephon Marbury had a few good runs.

But the long run? Don't lose sight of the big picture. In the long run, Melo ain't doin' nothin' for you.

That's a bit extreme. I still would have preferred Paul or Howard but I definitely like Melo as our PF of the future.

Might seem extreme now, but my eye for the game, my feel for the hoops, this can't be denied, IT CAN'T BE IGNORED.

I don't see anything good or healthy, or enjoyable, or fun, in the future for this team.

Serious question: when Melo hit those shots yesterday, were you happy or sad?

Sad. I've been rooting against Melo and the Knicks since MDA was fired.

And I haven't even watched an entire quarter, total, since I don't know when.

Sometimes I ask myself what I am still doing here, but I cannot let my people go.

Not saying its his "Fault" but not ready to label him a "Knick Star".

If he goes in the Hall of fame tomorrow he goes in as a KNugg, not a KNick.

He had his first moment coming up big in a big moment in an important game for us.

Its a start!

I can understand the reluctance to say that "Melo is clearly the best player to wear a knicks uniform since Patrick Ewing". He hasn't been here that long and we're still getting to know him as a player.

Also, those who believe that he purposely played badly in order to get D'Antoni fired will take a while to come around (if they ever do) although I think there are really only a few posters who have a starkly "anti-melo" agenda.

I think most of us are happy to see the Knicks doing well and possibly getting into the playoffs (and advancing - that's important too ) even if we aren't ecstatically in love with each and every knick player.

LOL, I got to at lease give this clown credit were credit is due and his face paint don't run.

Atlease he man's up, to quote ES.

Don't have to go threw Haiku like post out Nalod about nothing of import, declaring this and that to declare it a week later differently like the great loser Russian owner and Dwight "now Waffles" Howard.

or

Bonn trying to qualify Melo as a "Power Forward", as if the ball or the Bulls did anything different because he was starting at the 4.

or

IQ and some others in the Tyson Chandler thread trying to turn this into a TC versus Melo season, because we all know when we said Dirk was great it was because Tyson Chandler was the real MVP of the Mavs.

It's much better when you get it straight from the clown.........Kudos Blob, Kudos!!!!

Thats fair but in general you can't call H20 & Spree superstars because they accomplished nothing once Ewing & JVG left. Think they beat Toronto in the 1st round the first year lost in the 2nd. Then lost to Toronto in the 1st round. And that was the end of our playoff run for a lonnng while

And the start of the dark ages with Layden, Houston's max contract with the bad knees, Spree and Camby getting shipped out, Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley....god so depressing

What did Ewing or JVG have to do with getting to the Finals in '99? Ewing looked great in a suit, and JVG's insistence on Charlie Football and starting Chris Dudley over anyone else in the solar system? We're not talking about careers, the topic is who's had any better moments in a Knick uniform since Ewing?

Spree's games was electric at both ends of the floor.
