Jrod now asks the Answer Man if the board has now gone so PC berzerk that one cannot use a common analogy that's been used to describe a bad presence in sports for the past 30 years.

The Melo hate phenomenon has now extended itself beyond all Mar-Boo-Lei levels. The hate is so palpable, that even thinly veiled posts against it awaken it's full bore hate-tread. Oh wait, maybe the Mar-Boo-Lei comment is insensitive to anyone who's ever possibly been Chinese?

What about "loser"? Can we critique that? Has anyone on the board ever lost anything?

"Evil"? Maybe that's over the top as well? Maybe some of you on here have experienced the polar opposite of good? (and I'm not just referencing evil's posts)

And the hits just keep on comin.

Individuals can only speak for themselves. There is no general rule or any law to enforce being politically correct, whatever that means.

The "common analogy" you speak of only remains in use so long as people repeat it. Just because Latin baseball players like Roberto Clemente, were described as dumb or lazy, for not speaking English as their first language, does NOT make it right. Or worth perpetuating.

Answer man is being a little over the top (IMHO). Racism is a horrible analogy. This is not a derogatory term and we don't have to be that thin skinned. We all have had someone close to us die from cancer - should we not use the word "die" carelessly?

I get offended every time someone says the end to a close basketball game was crazy. Do you know what crazy really is? It's not buzzer beaters. Go to an insane asylum and find out. Ok guys? No more using crazy as an adjective to describe games. Lol.
