You saw the best and worst of Anthony tonight. Our offense became stagnant much too often when it counted, and just stood around waiting for Anthony to do his thing. Davis' inability to control the offense was key, and it looked as if Woodson turned to Anthony to be a point-forward when he saw that Davis was not cutting it.

The great irony is that as Anthony becomes healthier, you may see more and more of him trying to take things over, and when he is not having a good game, the rest of the team will not be able to compensate. When he was not as mobile, he seemed to be doing a pretty good job of being a team player.

His defense has been much better this year, and that is what may allow him to carry the superstar tag at some point, but the entire idea behind this thread is bogus, since he has never been a true superstar. One of the great pure scorers in the NBA, yes, but a complete player, no. He's a star, but is not at that next level.

Melo has been playing great but we are missing two other scoring options in lin and amare so when melo goes cold or they start doubling him we are in trouble

I love how you hide when he is playing well and you come out of your hole as soon as he misses a few shots

I'm not sure what your point is but I already indicated that I didn't watch the first 3 quarters. I wasn't "hiding."

This is the problem...some of his best scoring nights just become statistic compilations and a team loss, because without another scoring option the game plan breaks down. I cannot imagine a game where Lin scores 30+ points and the Knicks lose, because the way he scores breaks down the D and opens up other players. Then again...we need any back-up point guard that can break down the D and open things up.

If you're a real superstar, you won't need your supporters to keep reminding people that you are one. Your play will speak for itself. I'm waiting and hoping for the day when his play makes it undeniable that he's a superstar.

I am pretty critical of melo but recently he has been playing like a superstar. Most of the season he wasn't but now he is and besides tonight we have been playing well

Melo needs to take his one and done NC ring, his gold medal and his money and be a happy man. He will never win an NBA championship.

"There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and
never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren't willing to
sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in
the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual
goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest
is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades
will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and
intelligence win championships.”

What do his teammates have to do with his horrific shot % before he hit this good stretch? Or his unwillingness to give up the ball when double teamed against Boston in the playoffs? Or just the fact that he wasn't playing as hard for D'Antoni?

Haha - that pretty funny? Give up the ball to WHOM in the playoffs if I may ask?? Jared Jefferies? Uh ... that worked out great. 26 points and 10 rebounds per game with zero supporting cast.

Oh Gasol? A great coach? And a great supporting cast? You want to compare all those variables to this team and you are being honest here?

Melo is still a superstar
