It's complete crap- why would they hold back him having surgery for a week unless they thought there was a good chance resting it would help? Getting the surgery a week earlier would have increased the chances of him returning for the playoffs.

That said, I still hate the way the Knicks lie about injuries- its like they think we cant handle the truth. It's so patronising.

Another conspiracy theory.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Conspiracy theory indeed. I don't think the scenario of that article is close to being true. I cannot imagine Jim Dolan would force Lin to wait to announce and let his knee injury linger for this long. It is rather inhuman and cruel to think Jim would stoop that low. Also, getting surgery at young age of 23 is very intense and would require a long time to decide for the operation and Lin waited this long would make more sense coming from his own will rather than being 'forced' to. I'm not saying this article is completely ridiculous and far fetched, but I would not consider the likelihood of that conspiracy theory, and I'm a Jim Dolan hater.

I agree with those saying the Knicks would sell out anyway. Isola has no sources and makes a living out of being provocative.

The Knicks would sell out Playoff Tickets if Marbury, Keith Van Horn, Doleac and Coach Thomas were still here lol.

I think with Lin out, Knicks lose the lovable factor. It's tougher to follow these guys. Lin made a lot of Knicks fans but also basketball fans in the universe.

What does that have to do with this thread?

He's just saying Linsanity made it fun to watch Knicks basketball, that is all. We all love the feel-good story and now the feel good story is in surgery.

So being that it won't be as fun the knicks won't sell out the playoffs? Is that the point?

This immediately caught my eye on the Cablevision statement.

Mr. Zuckerman has engaged in a campaign of intimidation and extortion to effect a merger between Newsday and the Daily News. He has made repeated overtures to Mr. Dolan and his executives to combine the operations with joint ownership and shared printing and editorial expense. This proposal was rejected multiple times. In fact, at a Four Seasons lunch meeting on March 6, Mr. Zuckerman once again made his proposal, this time adding that “the bad press would end if we became joint owners” (a direct quote). Shortly thereafter, the Daily News ran a full front page with Mr. Dolan’s picture as a centerpiece for a skull and crossbones graphic that included the word “Toxic” in bold print. Today’s back page story is just another in a series of these defamatory extortions.

If Dolan had run the organization well over the past decade, he'd get much more sympathy from me.

Are you kidding me? SMFH. Can't believe I wasted my time reading this crap.

Yea, you're right, what was I thinking. Its not like Dolan ever did anything underhanded right?

Like that time the Knicks wanted to keep their consecutive sell out streak going even when the team was sucking. So they "bought" the tickets themselves to make it seem like there were still sellouts for a while. Oh yea, they kept that up until it became painfully obvious to everyone that there were empty seats. But that wasn't deception right? Dolan is always a straight up chap!

But the playoffs? When have the knicks ever not sold out the playoffs?

The issue might not be selling out the seats but rather selling them for as high a price as possible.

Im not sure how people are completely missing this.

The prices would be sky high anyways, someone's gotta pay for the 3 year renovations.

Prices are determined by supply and demand. You don't think there would be more demand to see games with Jeremy Lin than games with Toney Douglas playing PG?
