In 2007, Stephon donated $4,000,000 to New York City, $1,000,000 each to the NYPD, FDNY, EMT, and New York City Teacher's Fund.

Marburys generosity towards his extended family is also well documented.
Feltonand Amare - exactly what did Stephon Marbury do to deserve your enjoyment of his misfortune?
Just curious, what cash have you donated to similar causes?
Thats nice that he donated money for a good cause. I dont know him personally so I wont make any assumptions but i think FeltonAmare was referring to his playing days in New York where he did cause alot of heartache for the fans. He didnt say he was a horrible person so i dont think he did anything wrong
Exactly, I couldn't have said it better myself! It's amazing how people forget what this clown did to this franchise. He deserves everything he gets and more.
Ya I mean i dont think he is a bad guy but he did make o fool of himself during his Knick days
What exactly did he do other than have the misfortune of having a "coach" (and I use that term loosely) that obviously did not know what the hell he was doing?
The way I see it....for all of Marbury's craziness "off the court" at the end of his tenure here, MDA had the point guard he needed, when he first got here, to run his magical system.
Dolan, Thomas, MDA and Marbury can all share the blame for all the buffoonery that happen during that time.
Add Larry Brown to the mix. In fact, Marbles was the point guard of the olympic team.
I'd have to say that Dolan, Larry and Thomas all had a huge stake in Marbles succeeding.
So why would they do a think to sabatage his success? Marbles created an impossible situation on and off the court. Dolan and Thomas enabled this kid even further.
So what Did Dolan, Thomas and Larry do that was so wrong? Pay a kid 100 mil to do a job. He did not do it. MDA when he came in likely had a deal that he was not going to further the insanity. He gave it a try. Marbles got injured. HE came into shape the next year and what we don't know prevented him from playing. Being in shape is not enough. YOUR SUPPOSE TO BE IN SHAPE!
He was untradable. NOBODY WANTED TO PAY HIM. His tenure with the Celtics did not look good. They really needed his talents and he did not respond as they hoped.
If you think Marbles got snaked have at it. Everybody involved wanted him to succeed.
Why wouldn't they?
