Personally I would have a hard time with him taking the job. His smugness when he had the best player on the planet on his team and he was beating the Knicks made him a life long villain for me.

I'm willing to ignore that he's chased Fields back into a hole, blew out Lin's knee and Stats back with this awesome 'pace'.

I prefer to go into rough parts of the schedule with only 20% of the starting roster, so he's left a bit to be desired, but as long as we strut into the playoffs with nothing but bench players available, I can overlook the regular season.

Just sign him, now.

Maybe you should go back to the other thread where you first posted this nonsense and respond to all of the posters that responded to you rather than starting this again.

We will forget about that as soon as he helps us win. And, he is a knick so that makes it a bit easier too.

The concept of signing Woodson longterm based on thes dozen games is far more nonsensical than anything I've posted.

Woodson's grade = incomplete.

That's reality.

woodson is a solid coach. if phil jackson or jvg say no, i'd put woodson third in line.

i think putting expectations on him with all the injuries is kinda crazy, though it goes without saying he needs to make the playoffs.

The reason I say win a championship is simple the players are all serious only because they got the coach fired. Next year if Woodson is the coach and the Knicks start losing they will do what they did to MDA which is tune him out. With Phil JAckson there is no tuning him out he is simply more valuable than any Knicks player. If you tune out JAckson than a player is basically tuning out Winning.

JVG won't even be approached nor will he ask.

well put. I tend to agree. But, Woodson has one upset in the playoffs and it's his job.

Keep Woodson. Continuity matters.

Im thinking we could steal Georgie Karl and maybe Melo will want out?

Perhaps we can get a similar deal for him!

Dolan is pretty consistent. HE will go for a coach that will help sell tickets and raise the exposure of the team.

He'll make a run at Phil if nor nothing just the back page exposure. If Phil has book to sell he will dance for a week or two.

If he can't get a "name" he'll stick with Woodson. Its a "Chaney" kind of hire. Its kind of easy for this team with woodson, first off he was hired with the high chance MDA would not make it and he because he has done a respectable job he can stay for a while. When we fire him, it won't be for lack of his failure, it will be because of the failure of the players or an imbalanced impossible roster. A big name will replace him giving us hope beyond the reality of the situation.

If Woody was already under contract I would feel very differently about this. But he hasnt had to put up with 5 roster changes in four years and he is an INTERIM head coach. So I think we should absolutely look at PJax if he has ANY interest. Probably Sloan and Skiles too if Skiles is indeed leaving.

But to be fair to Woody, I think he has earned himself a shot at this. He will probably be on the radar for other teams as well.

I am all for continuity but this is an extremely lame argument in the current situation. Continuity from 8 games?

It's Woodson's job to lose unless Jax wants to coach. If Jax wants in there is nothing Woody can do to keep the job.

Bobby Knight Don't Know Jack About Basketball

“It’s obvious what’s happened with the Knicks since he took over. The 9-2 record is as good as any coach’s in the NBA, and that’s sort of a declaration in itself. The players have really responded to Mike. The [Jeremy] Lin kid responded to the chance he had under Mike, the team’s gone 9-2, and they haven’t had anything remotely close to that performance over 11 games. You’d have to be an absolute idiot not to see all of that."

If, at the end of the year, the team is still playing well, energetic, team ball and winning, then give him a 3 yr contract. The team is clicking. Don't want to upset that.

Phil Jackson is the only one I would consider but Phil is old and in questionable health.

Woodson is here, that's how I see it. He's a good fit for this team and PJAX is not coming

I think that is the story, as long as the Knicks continue to play with energy and effort for the remainder of the year. The Knicks have a tough schedule coming up. If Woodson gets the Knicks to the playoffs, I think he deserves to stay. I think Sloan and Jackson are past their prime coaching days.

At the same level one could say: "with Melo out and Linsanity taking over you'd have to be an idiot to see a 8-1 record that the team is much better without Melo. The KNick players are intense on defense and the ball going thru Lin opens the offense!"

So basically one could advocate for MDA, Linsanity, and the extraction of Melo based on the same logic.

Hard to discrespect a man like Knight with his cred but the guy is advocating for one of his legacy guys and its natural he'd like to see Woodson keep the gig and succeed. IN fact, Im sure all but the "More important Im right Fan" wants Woodson to succeed beyond our wildest dreams!

In leu of a starphuch name I'd be pretty confident to say Woodson will get his chance. Personally I generally advocate for the knick coach as its usually roster chemistry that does these guys in. I root for woodson as I rooted for the last 8 coaches in the last 11 years.

Not that Coach K would ever do NY, but give hime the reigns to steer the franchise and hire his successor while remaining "Chairman".

This Franchise needs "Culture".

With Dolan at the helm its erratic.

Impatient is more like it.

The only error is having too much money and not enough resolve.

Coach K is not an answer. This ain't Durham, North Carolina.
