A lot of us had the "honor" to experience the 2006-2008 seasons. This is a paper cut compared to those.

Also, the 1999 draft where we took Frederic Weis over Ron Artest; trading Sprewell for Keith Van Horn; the despicable way Don Chaney was fired...

After 12 years of apathy we had a little hope, and now all we can do is think about what could have been? C'mon guys we've been through worse than this much much worse. We are going to the playoffs and as long as the players give it their all and compete as best as they can there's nothing to be ashamed of or depressed about. Injuries...shminjuries.

It's upsetting for sure but I would rather have a banged up team that competes than a healthy team that doesn't.

At least we should be able to come back from this next season.
Yeah, I think the Charles Smith game is my worst memory but there are a lot. For sonme of those teams it seemed like they were going to win a championship and not getting there year after year was pretty devestating. This team was headed in the right direction but personally my expectations were not nearly as high as they were for some of those 90's Ewing teams.

And as far as I'm concerned we're still heading in the right direction. One, hopefully not so serious, knee injury doesn't change that. Of course, if he's rushed back the way CP3 was a few years ago... I'd rather not think about it.

Good point VCoug.

I am in Germany and though I'm a Knicks fan, I have to say Lin created something that really made me want to watch the team. I stayed up between 1:30am - 3am most games! Ok, I only work PT but he created this great feeling, team play - Yeah I wanted to see him succeed, but NOT at the expense of the team. I wanted to see us play team ball and we did. He often took over in the 4th quarter and that is ok. Now, we are still playing team ball and maybe he returns before the regular season finishes, but what a tough blow none the less.

I really would like to hear about the severity of his injury, then we'll have an idea on how much this might affect his career. Meniscus tears can be of all sizes, locations and either be snipped out or repaired.

Where a meniscus tear occurs is one of the most important factors in healing. Tears at the outer edge (red zone) tend to heal well because there is a good blood supply. The inner area (white zone) lacks a good blood supply and therefore does not heal well.

The type of tear often determines whether a tear can be repaired.

Guys, I know the news hit everybody really hard because it is a tough blow, but the season is far from over. This team has taken so many hits this season and everytime they seem to find inner strength and energy to make a comeback and I expect them to do just that. You can see this team doesn't want to give up and whether it is sticking to their improving and stifling defense or riding the hot hand of their stars or bench, I expect them to leave their all on the court and keep up on a really good season.

Lets not give up on them because while the road may be tougher, the team seems to be willing to give their best fight.

That does not sound like the description of a .500 team. I admire your optimism though!

The team is 9-2 with the new coach so I think there is still hope. 25 of the losses happened before the change.

What really sucks is that this was the most talented team we've had in a long time playing some of its best ball in a long time. The entire team was on the same page and were starting to beat some of the elite teams in the east, proving that we can compete with anyone. Then, Stat and Lin go down. Hard to stomach right now. Sure, we still have some talent and can still make a push for the final spot, but with a healthy roster, we could have made some serious noise.

I'm hoping that if we don't go all the way, the struggles before our departure from the playoff picture will give some of our free agents a sense of unfinished business and return next year to finish the Job!!

Same here. With Lin, I was scheduling my activities around Knick games. Now, eh...I watch when I have the time.

Can we really not find anyone in the entire D-League, Europe, etc that will gives us more than Bibby?

I'd take Anthony Carter over him at this point. Is Bibby still on the roster purely because of the human element of no1 wanting to be the one to break the news that he has to pack it up and hang up his hi-tops?

Am I the only one confounded by this?

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
