He does overplay really badly - even in the backcourt!! Hopefully Woodson actually is communicating with him and fixes that.

Donald Sloan may be an example of why I feel we should at least consider waiving Bibby and signing somebody from the NBDL, but only IF Bibby can't really give us extended minutes and consecutive outings off the bench. And so far from what I've seen, he can't.

How about Aron Brooks? Whats his status? I saw somewhere that he just finished his season in China.

Papabear Says

That's why they have real coaches and scouts instead potato couch coaches with a computer thinking they know it all on forums. Hey give Dolan a call and give him your recommendations.

If TD is so good, then explain to me why TD fell all the way to the 11th or 12th man in Clueless Pringles' rotation. Do you really think that he's gonna turn it around overnight just because we need him to step up? Douglas has limited skills and no basketball moxey. He's a borderline NBA player at best.
You've proven yourself to be a blundering idiot (MANY times over) on this forum, Papabear....
so I'll take your comments with a grain of salt.

All I know is the guy plays hard and plays injured.

I think he gives his best and wants to do good.

He is the longest tenured knick on the roster.

I root for his return to form and hope he really does well.

If its his shoulder or his head, I hope he gets it right!

The Charmin Chronicles

The best part, to our mind, was that Lin was tough. We don't just mean the crunch-time mettle, though he of course had that in abundance; post-surgery, you could put him out on crutches and we'd still probably want him taking the last shot. We mean that he was physically punished every game — particularly once he became the focal point of every opponent's defensive strategy — with consistent bashes across the head and neck. Lin seemed to get at least one bloody nose a game ... and yet he never stopped driving the lane, and he never stopped getting back up. Lin was absolutely fearless. Maybe to make it to this level in so unlikely a fashion ... maybe you have to be. - Will Leitch, MYMag

Dig It

The most maddening thing Douglas does is dribble from the baseline into the paint, under the hoop, past the hoop and back outside the three point arc.

It even drives the Answer Man's pet chihuahua, Zorro, nuts. Every time Toney Douglas misses Steve Novak, Zorro growls at the flat screen. C'mon, what would be so difficult about getting into the lane, taking the inevitable hit and making a reverse layup every now and then?

sheesh

I'm not hoping for much, just to give 15-20 minutes of quality ball. It's obvious BD will break down any minute, and Bibby is just a space eater. We need you Toney!

Duhon's tutelage. Never saw it till he got to the pro's. I remember watching Toney questioning him about it and drawing little circles in the air when talking to him.

There are 2 simple reasons why the "Old" slow Mike Bibby should still play minutes & be
ahead of Toney Douglas for PG duties:

1). Toney Douglas is a Terrible passer OR basically cannot make a pass to save his NBA guard life
Mr Douglas whom I like off court cannot even make a pass at a girl

Toney fails to realize what gets him to stay on the basketball floor court is simple basketball basics
for some reason he doesnt know this or no one talks to Toney about making passes, playing the lanes on D'
going to basket instead of 20% FG jumpers he loves.

2) Douglas will break up the the Knicks schemes. He will break chemistry and not be a good floor decision person on the floor.
Poor Douglas. He is a nice guy but he just doesn't have it this season cause he feels his offense is the way out of his funk.

Are we talking TD or JR here?

We need this guy.....

Getting TD going is a better bet than hoping Bibby can get going.

Toney Douglas is shot
isnt the year for a comeback

perhaps someone will work with him over his game

He's terrible ..got chance to play and he hoist up few good shots
but shaky confidence no d'
no shot and no chance isnt what Knicks need now

Time to pull plug on TD & wait to next yr, if still a Knick.
He wants to score to get his mindset going & he wont understand you dont have to score to improve your game

He's 6 foot 2or 3
playing like he's 3 foot 6inches

not tough anymore
at least Hank jr/Mike Bibby can make few nba passes which count as_sists for scores

TD next as_sist pass will be his first
trust me on that

Good, we needed a PG to step up in the absence of Lin. I'm glad TD is able to pull through.

Mike Woodson trusting Toney Douglas to play the entire fourth quarter was a statement.

For this roller coaster season, Douglas' return from the grave makes perfect sense.

"Son, if you earn it, you can have your job back."

Play defense.

Go towards the hoop on offense.

Make crisp entry passes.

Shoot something other than a three point shot.

Keep your head up.

Great to see him back in that Orlando game- we really need that TD for the rest of the season with no Lin and an ailing BD. He's a hard worker, and he looks physically like he did last season (at the start of this one he looked like he'd put on way too much muscle). He was the worst PG in the league this year, but he can redeem himself in the remaining games- I'm rooting for him.

My, how the answer man doth changeth his tune from page to page within the same thread. Consistency, man, consistency! Even a rollercoaster travels mostly in the same direction.

One, minute, Zorro is growling at the screen because TD's making pointless drives to the baseline and back out to the arc, and the next minute it's keep your head up son.

Which, by the way, may have been his best highlight of the night, besides those stupid Mjax teardrop prayers he was flinging at the basket in the second half. His pointless drives to the baseline and out to the arc ate up precious 4th quarter clock, albeit against an O-town that looked like it could give half a **** if TD took the ball and ran blacklines with it for 12 minutes.
